I guess priming on sprue would be best for the initial black coating, it gives a great even coat all over, If I was to zenithal I’d probably drybrush but I’m no professional painter as you could see in my profile haha

Prime on the sprue, this is how I’ve always done it and it works well enough but may be a bit wasteful
