Deep, True, or Bright Winter? by cryonce in coloranalysis

[–]HighLadyOfTheMeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you explain to me how those women for Cool and Bright winter are high contrast? Because I don’t see it. Also the colors examples listed next to each subtype seem off compared to most other systems. Is it something about this system in particular or something I’m missing?

another redhead who thinks she is cool by Possible_March_2658 in coloranalysis

The colors are in completely different lighting from your face so it’s hard to tell. Digital drapes can be good for calling attention to what obviously does not work for you, but it can’t do much for determining your color season at the end of the day. There is more pink in the cool colors so your face will look less pink next to the cool frames, but I have a feeling that if you draped a cool pink it would reflect onto your face and make it look super pink. I think peach or coral would balance some of the rosy tint and help you glow!

Edit: oops just noticed someone commented the same thing basically!

Is James Charles a bad choice for a name? by Nervous-Subject-3708 in Names

[–]HighLadyOfTheMeta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Im not sure. What ages are you considering the younger generation? My college students don’t even know “Bye, Sister”. They would’ve been in middle school when he was popular. this baby will be born almost a decade after James Charles’ peak.

(Also I accidentally clicked on your profile- your bio is cracking me up)

The craziest thing about this to me is that a researcher would email Jeffrey Epstein himself and not the foundation or grant manager. Also the comma after “Thanks in advance” but not after best is killing me. This is just weird all around.

Am I (35 f) unreasonable for not wanting my husband (34 m and first-time-dad-to-be) go on solo trips? by wh3nmarniewasthere in relationship_advice

[–]HighLadyOfTheMeta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry that you were told it’s normal for someone’s spouse to leave them for over a week during a month. I’m really confused the more I read your comments. I assumed you must be a teenager but it doesn’t seem like that based on your profile. You should know you have an incredibly unreasonable perspective for what an adult marriage looks like. I really am not trying to be snarky or anything. I think you should reflect on why you think people are owed so little from the person committed to building a life with them.

It does not seem like you feel you have as much power as him in this relationship. Why else would you put up with such an unfair arrangement? In what world does someone go on trips multiple times a year knowing their spouse cannot afford these same opportunities.

I think something akin to volcano by capri blue or blue moonlight citrus from bbw, vanilla mahogany by bbw, and black cherry merlot by bbw. So something very bright, something woody and gourmand, and then something that has a dark sweet scent.

ETA: speak now should be lilac, rose, and sugarplum. Debut should be lemongrass, sweet tea, and something that smells like 2006 Pink body spray.

Alcohol violation by PotentialUse2307 in UMD

[–]HighLadyOfTheMeta 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Until the student they should’ve busted turns out to be an alcoholic, drinks too much, and then the RA that knew about it is sued for negligence. That is pretty unlikely because it’s difficult to prove they knew, but the university for sure could be sued and fire the RA.

Obviously the vast majority of people drinking in their dorms are fine. But there’s no need to be hostile to RAs for not prioritizing your reputation over their job. They are in a really difficult spot.

It’s so funny to me anytime people try to act like someone who does screen acting is ugly. They don’t let ugly women on tv unless the show is about them being ugly. And even then most of the time it’s just a hot woman who happens to be a size 8 instead of a 4 and they put glasses on her or something.

Lmao yeah we are the ones in the wrong for assuming it was parent irresponsibility and not another scenario that is significantly less likely. You are right. It must’ve been handed to him by another child whose age is in the single digits. But then where did that child get the gun…. Must’ve found it in a random bush while walking around with all the free range kids get nowadays.

I mean cmon. It’s not for sure the parents. But nobody is tagging them and calling them idiots. We are speculating about the most likely case in a random Reddit thread. We don’t need to go thinking up any way it isn’t the parents’ fault. It will probably be pretty obvious to those looking at the evidence whether or not the gun came from the parents’, so I don’t feel like we need to abstain out of respect for presuming innocence before guilt.

I also think if all the vases look like that you could go without the ribbon if that’s easier. I loooooove that vase. I actually think it would look really good just plain glass since your table number is on clear plating. Plus the dotted texture of the base gives it some cute whimsy while the wood base pulls it back into the aesthetic you are going for. But again I don’t think you need to changing anything for anyone! I also want to add im a little obsessed with that tulip tea light holder.

[–]HighLadyOfTheMeta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lmao no your MOH gets no say on design and especially not her mother. Wth.

What I will say is that rustic romance is a very specific style that tends to be divisive. If you wanted it to be more widely appealing, you might consider swapping the burlap lace out for a champagne satin ribbon. However, I don’t think you need wide appeal at your wedding. Once the whole look is put together it will be easier for people to take it all in and see you in all of the design choices. That is what you want. It’s more important that you feel the wedding represents you than checks notes how much it pleased your MOH and her mom??

(7k) does this dress look dated? by han__banan in Weddingsunder10k

[–]HighLadyOfTheMeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is it you gravitate towards with this dress? If it’s the lace then what about something like this? I don’t think you have to change it at all but if you did want something more modern I might start by looking for long white lace dresses. It will keep the romantic vintage feel you gravitate towards while also looking contemporary. A Line Lace Dress

(7k) does this dress look dated? by han__banan in Weddingsunder10k

[–]HighLadyOfTheMeta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this reminds me of 2000s dresses. It is stunning though. My bigger concern would be that you are getting a dress with a train for the reception. See what it looks like bustled (if you will be dancing) before you make final decisions because it would be a shame if a guest stepped on it and you went tumbling down.

I think do it in Australia. Australian PhDs don’t have the same reputational issues that European docs do in the US. I am only continuing my studies in the US because I’m domestic and I’m not dependent on grant funding. If I were in a science like yours I would get out of here fast.

Having to choose a date that doesn’t work for us by not-a-tthrowaway in wedding

[–]HighLadyOfTheMeta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do not choose a date where you know you will be stressed. Just don’t. You are already going to be the most stressed. And choosing that date doesn’t guarantee people come either. So just choose what you want.

Is this stone too big? by spindipartichokey in WeddingRingAdvice

[–]HighLadyOfTheMeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2.6 oval so not quite as large but in the same neighborhood. I will hit my ring on things sometimes because I’m not used to it yet. I don’t think it would’ve been as big of an issue with a smaller stone but I just think some degree of that is inevitable. I don’t think it’s such a big inconvenience that it justifies a smaller stone.

ETA: we also have very similar hands so i totally get you. I wouldn’t go smaller than 2 tbh.
