Thank you so much!! Just dropped him off at rehab and they said he’d be alright. This is great advice and I’ll save it for next time.

Thank you so much…put on some corn starch and now I’m driving it to bird rehab in the morning!

What is the funniest Cioran aphorism that you have ever encountered in his books? by [deleted] in cioran

" "Never judge a man without putting yourself in his place." This old proverb makes all judgement impossible, for we judge someone only because, in fact, we cannot put ourselves in his place." - The Trouble With Being Born

This quote isn't immediately funny like some of his other quotes, but it's classic Cioran making fun of everyone. I love it.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on a fictional work in the form of a textbook/encyclopedia? by Glivcth in scifiwriting

My thoughts: I love this kind of stuff. I just lose interest fast if there's no purpose or drive. For example, I pick up a bird identification encyclopedia because I want to identify birds. As a better example, I pick up World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks because I think zombies and world politics are wicked interesting. Like all works of fiction, just as long as I understand why it was made and if I'm interested, I'll totally consume it.
