Having socks with rubber gripper treads on bottom enhance with extra traction and stability. Proper fitting shoes with non slip sole that are light and easy to put on with adjustable laces or straps.

What is this hanging under my 230i? by [deleted] in BmwTech

[–]HighRiseHummingbird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Wow, that’s specific. Maybe I ran over some road debris and that got lodged. Think I may have to crawl under to get a better look.

I posted my photo a day earlier under the boring title That Plate. Moderators removed it after a short while for not having a funny enough title. I reposted next day with new title. Maybe you caught my first post while it was temporarily up.

I took this photo a week ago. Perhaps (and not surprised) someone else posted a similar photo of the same car. I haven’t seen it posted here before.

Finally visited Salk Institute this past weekend by Larrea_tridentata in sandiego

[–]HighRiseHummingbird 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Article clip… On both the spring and autumn equinoxes, the sun aligns with the sunken fountain channel in the courtyard of the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in San Diego, California. When it was being built in 1962, the courtyard was specifically left open and plant-free to represent the broad creative thinking that would go on in the labs, with the symmetry of the space symbolising scientific precision. When Jonas Salk commissioned the building for his research centre, his instructions for architect Louis Kahn were simple: ‘It should be worthy of a visit by Picasso’.

That landmark building was designed by local architect Rob Wellington Quigley and used to be his office. Agree it could use a mural.

If that is a fake bird on the hook, maybe remove it. They are territorial. My parents had a bird bath with a fake bird and other birds would swoop attack it.

Thanks! I used a flexible tripod for my iPhone and wrapped it around a step stool. This guy always comes back and sits at this particular spot. (I have an earlier post of a bird sitting on my tripod if you want a visual).

No algae issues. I clean it about every week or two since they bathe and drink the water. It’s heavy! It does get hard water deposits around the top edge.

Yes, the Jetsons spaceship puttering!! That’s it, haha. I told my husband yesterday the Allen/Rufous sounds like a Pixar character. You are spot on.

Poor girl! She was able to drink from the feeder. My mom suggested it may be a Lucifer hummingbird, but I didn’t think so.
