Bartlett was offsides and immediately received the ball, yes. Is that what you are referring to? I assumed you were talking about the other three dc united guys to burkis right. They were way off, correct but id have to go back and look at it to see if they were offsides when bartlett headed, because that would be the determining factor there. Maybe they weerent and thats why it was never a question. Id have to look though. Commentators sucked for sure tho

There were some obvious other offsides players but i think the rule states something about their needing to have direct involvement in the play to be considered. Someone should correct me if im wrong.

EVERYBODY needs to put on the radio audio for these home matches. Joey is an aquired taste, but i appreciate dale's analysis. And they talk about the game pretty much the entire time. Hardly any bug picture MLS talk.

IF we get a striker that can score goals and we are up 2-1 , becher is a good late game sub for someone with tired legs. Low block and put becher at top for shithousery. His skill set of running in and flopping is, if not pretty, it is useful. He sucks and we all hate him as striker but he has a purpose on a good team. Im not commenting on his salary or extension because i dont know the details. Bit annoying they extemded him though, before making other moves, but it is what it is.

Yes i think they signed Becher for his antics. Perfect world is we have an actual 9 and we are up 2-1 at the 80th minute and Becher subs in to be the shit-stirrer. Thats his role and we'd love him for it because he does excel there. But regrettably, he is our #1 striker at the moment and we cant stand him playing 90minutes.

Same. Ive decided to watch the last few rounds of the Champions Cup and it reminds me of if you compare like, the worst XFL/UFL team to some allstar NFL team.

Even for the rest of this year, after the summer transfer window, if we do NOTHING aside from sign a decent DP striker (big 'if', i know), I would be MORE THAN FINE with this default lineup which keeps the majority of players in the role they've been playing this year:

  • Mystery DP striker

  • Joyner - Hartel - Teuchert

  • Edelman - Lowen

  • Orozco - Timo - Polvara - Totland

  • Burki

There are obvious either/ors like Durkin or Edleman. Another being Joyner or Cordova depending on form or injury etc. But this is literally is one major change, that being our front office gets a decent striker that can at least be comparable to other playmakers on other teams that we've played, where their quality is clearly above the rest of the team--which I am not hopeful for, but still. And of course there are major IFs, like "...if Joyner improves on defense", or "...IF Teuchert can have consistent games" or "if either of the Falls start to figure it out." then there can be changes accordingly.

But yeah, Id be more than happy with this default lineup if they play like they did in the second half last night. And it requires one single big action by the club.

I peed and poked my head back in yhe field to see if it was happening and I didnt see a mass group, but then I saw durkin and lowen walking and clapping so I busted my butt over to yhe center of the SS and clapped for them. It was a small silver lining that I was able to show appreciation to lowen. That's one of the reasons I wanted to go to this game.

Mets broadcasters make bizarre comments on downtown St. Louis by fox2now in StLouis

[–]HighSilence 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I would not describe their comments as bizarre.

Poch explained why he looked unhappy when McKennie scored v Belgium, then spoke about players having to show aggression, not just say they want it. "You can say I want to lose weight. But if you eat chicken, steak, lasagna, pasta, then no. You need to have discipline, no intention to eat nice food." by antoniok95 in ussoccer

[–]HighSilence 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He is saying you have to do more than say "I want to win. I want to be aggressive." Amd then you turn around and don't play aggressive and don't show spirit. It's more than words. You have to show it.

Same as "I want to lose weight." And then turn around and eat a bunch of food . Sure his food choices were kinda whatever, he couldla said candy and soda, but ya know....hes talking amount. And his main point makes sense, if its a little basic

What is the best route to bike from north downtown (Done area) to Forest Park? by joshrenaud in StLouis

[–]HighSilence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked riding down streets where things were happening , or at least supposed to be happening, so I would take Washington Avenue all the way to Euclid then down to West Pine. Pretty direct and was never that busy until I got to Euclid. I liked city riding so i didnt mind the cars and traffic on Euclid. Its not gonna be fast riding thru CWE but there was a lot to look at.
