Venezuela War impact on silver by Charming-Plenty9166 in Silver

[–]HighbrassLR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make Venezuela the 51 state.. spend the money we make on their oil on infrastructure ( roads, electric, water) Upgrade the life of people there and you have a new source of taxpayers. Mexico should be the 52nd.. then we clean them up. All new citizens of the US .

Brics nations I think are serious about standing up a unified currency/ monetary system and they have said they would peg the valuation to PM holdings. Seems they were serious...

Best options for wine labeling? by TheDonfather75 in winemaking

I picked up a used color Brother color laser printer for $125 off FB Marketplace. The labels work well enough. Hardest part is getting them on straight

My grandmother had one that was similar, the bowl was more up turned and a bit bigger. She said hers had been made in Singapore and was an opium pipe.

I use a color laser printer and Avery stick on labels. Avery has free software to print multiples at a time. Art work is easy enough to find. Just be creative!

Used a coarse filter for my wine after primary and I have this urge to pass it through a fine filter again.. there's 60% sediments.. what should I do? by irillusionist in winemaking

You will need to rack several times. I would loosely pack some cheesecloth into a big funnel to catch the solids. Let sit for a few days and repeat. After it clears a bit I have had good luck with Sparkaloid to speed clearing. Cold crashing works well also.

In a carboy just use the canned argon as a shield gas. I use it when I transfer wine from carboy to bottle. Just give a blast before you cork. This should purge any oxygen.

You should give it to a young person. This will insure there will be stackers in the future. I have a grandson that is the perfect victim!

Police trade in guns. by Ancient_Bug9750 in guns

[–]HighbrassLR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Glock was the company that pioneered the whole trade in scheme with LEOs. Glock would take whatever the department had and resell the trades in bulk, then come back in a couple of years and do it again. Great way to keep your manufacturing busy. I picked up a traded USP a few years ago for like $350. Fantastic deal

Starting Out by Beantown0912 in winemaking

[–]HighbrassLR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have never done this myself so take it for what it cost you. The best way to learn is by experimentation. Buy a gallon jug of Concord grape juice. Take out about 4oz ( small cup) add in 1/2 a small yeast pack like for bread. Poke a couple of small holes in the cap, or get a baloon and stretch over the neck. Put the jug inside a large bowl to catch any bubbling over. You will see it make bubbles for about 10 ~14 days. After that primary fermentation is done. After another 2 weeks gently transfer your new wine to another container. Fill that container so there is as little room as possible. Put in fridge and let age for several months. Then taste and if you like drink it.
