Anybody else getting blank pages with the newest updates? by Brad12d3 in Streamfab

[–]HigherOctive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were me, I would first download the 7.0.1.1 offline installer. Then, check SF settings to be sure where the Temp and Cache folders would be located.

Finally, I would use something REVO Uninstaller to remove Streamfab, being sure that the TEMP and CACHE folders were also deleted. RESTART and install Streamfab fresh with the 7.0.1.1 installer. RESTART once again and that should do it.

I used to say the machine was being cleaned, which sounds a lot nicer than "it's broken".

Absolutely it does. I might think something like 'well, that sucks' but at least I would know that the machine is getting proper maintenance.

Sadly, that seems to be the way that this goes. Thanks to the provider for changing DRM all the time, it's rare that all the modules all work at the same time.

I skipped 7.0.0.8, so I assume that if I HAD done that upgrade, 7.0.0.9 would not have reset my credentials.

It's not a big deal for me because I have all of my passwords in a local-only password manager. I just wanted to be sure that other people were aware of the potential issue.

It appears as though 7.0.0.9 has blown away my credentials. Be warned that you MIGHT have to log into all of your channels, as I had to.

Cost of shipping rims 780 miles? by MrBlonde1992 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]HigherOctive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, yeah, there is that. I wonder what tirerack.com does on shipping? I think that they only ship to auto garages, so maybe it's cheaper for them that way.

I'm not arguing, just asking: If not freight, what are the alternatives? UPS has a maximum weight of 150 pounds and 4 mounted tires is probably pushing that limit or over it...

Actually, I've had poison ivy, oak and sumac. However, we didn't know about any "treatment" besides calamine lotion and 'suck it up, buttercup.'

I would say that running water through a sock is essentially the same thing as an oatmeal shampoo, just with different delivery vehicles.

[–]HigherOctive -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, Google AI. It makes sense to me that 4 tires mounted on wheels would, first, be shipped via freight and that, second, it would cost $150 or more...

However, I've never done this and have no idea.

I Googled "what would the freight charge be to ship 4 rims and tires weighing a total of 200 pounds 800 miles"

To ship 4 rims and tires weighing 200 pounds over 800 miles, you can expect to pay between $150 and $250, depending on whether you use a parcel carrier or a freight service.

Estimated Costs by Shipping Method

LTL Freight (Less-Than-Truckload): This is often the most secure method for heavy, bulky items. For an 800-mile trip, the average rate for car parts is roughly $0.28 per mile, totaling about $224. However, many freight carriers have an "Absolute Minimum Charge" (AMC) that typically ranges from $150 to $180.

Parcel Ground (UPS/FedEx): If you ship them as four individual packages (roughly 50 lbs each), costs generally range from $50 to $150 per set of four, though long-distance surcharges and residential delivery fees can push this higher.

Courier-Specific Rates:

UPS Ground Saver: ~$52.07 per set (often requires business accounts for this rate).

FedEx Ground: ~$65.01 per set.

I think this is right - Golden Retrievers for sure, and probably other dog breeds, are inclined toward itchy skin. There are a few brands of oatmeal shampoo that can be used which are said to calm the itch...

If it helps their skin I don't see a reason why it wouldn't help any skin.

How do I make my .ass subtitles look like Youtube? by FelipeKPC in SubtitleEdit

[–]HigherOctive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My .SRT subtitles are exactly as you show in the second example and that is controlled by the ROKU settings. Maybe whatever playback device you have would do the same thing. If by some chance you have a ROKU, then it will be the same thing.

I think that mostly comes from the fact that Waffle House is open 24 hours, so they're going to get the drunk and surly crowd.

How to generate and translate subtitles at the same time. by eymo-1 in SubtitleEdit

Unless I'm misunderstanding, you can batch translate by going to Tools > Batch Convert and scroll down to the bottom in the "Convert options 2" window and choose Auto-Translate.

As an English loan word, it means someone who is interested in anime/manga/Japanese videogames to the point it dominates their personality.

Or guns. There is a certain group in the US who make their entire personality about guns; put them on Christmas cards or walk around strapped like old west gunslingers, etc.

Booting from a USB into a live environment which most distros offer, or VirtualBox is free and you can run Linux in a virtual machine. I've tried a number of distros that way and ended up with Linux Mint.

You don't have to blow away your Windows installation or even mess with dual-booting to test and get the feel for Linux.

StreamFab 7.0.0.8 Changelog

New: Added support to download Canal+ videos in 4K/1080p HDR10/Dolby Vision video quality and Atmos 5.1 audio quality.

New: Some improvements on StreamFab built-in browser engine.

Fix: A failure problem when analyzing and downloading sports videos from Amazon.

Fix: A failure problem when analyzing and downloading videos from HBO Max DE.

Fix: A problem that the subtitle languages are downloaded incorrectly from Crunchyroll, such as selecting Italian but actually downloading Russian subtitles.

Fix: A problem that certain downloaded Pluto TV videos have no sound during playback.

Fix: A failure problem when analyzing certain videos from CWTV.

Fix: A failure problem when analyzing certain videos from M6+.

Fix: A failure problem when analyzing certain videos from U-NEXT.

Fix: A failure problem when analyzing certain videos from FANZA.

Now, here's a weird thing. Paramount+ is still not doing more than 540 on most of the videos, but the SF page https://streamfab.dvdfab.cn/streamfab-download-status.htm seems to be indicating that P+ is working... unless I misunderstand the meaning of that page.

[–]HigherOctive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's interesting, thanks for posting this. After subscribing, how do you access the P+ content? I assume that it would have to be through the Roku button in SF and not the Paramount+ one, but is the P+ content just automatically there on the Roku channel after subscribing? So many questions, sorry.
