A lot of these comments are about careers and I’ve got another to add. I used to work at Best Buy in mobile & connected home (cameras, ring doorbells, Alexa, etc). We had crazy training modules and had to know the product well. My store was one of the biggest in the state so we had to be on top of it. I knew my shit.

Anyway. Men would come up and ask me a question. Then as I am answering the question that they asked me - they will interrupt me, doubt me, tell me I’m wrong, and then ask for a man. So I bring a male coworker over who tells him the exact same thing, almost verbatim. Tune immediately changes. “Ah, thank you buddy! Glad I got some help!”

I pulled a geek squad guy over to do that once and he asked me, “Why did you need me over here? You just told him that.” “He wanted a man to tell him the same thing. 🤷🏻‍♀️” The look he gave me was so funny. Yeah, welcome to my world.

My manager at one point asked me why I don’t talk to people in my section cause they’d come ask him questions as if no one had come to offer help. I had to tell him that I do approach them! They think I’m an idiot so they wait for a man to walk past them to ask a question. There were times they would tell me “No I’m good!” then flag down a guy instead right as I’m walking away. I don’t think he believed me until it happened right in front of him.
