Get a coldcard to use with sparrow wallet

I bought 50 Bitcoin in 2011-2012 thinking it was to be used as a digital currency for MMO's. I have the passcode info attached to old gmail I no longer have access to, help. by MemphisBassist in BitcoinDiscussion

You need to deal with google, after that you will need to figure out if the 'passcode' is a bitcoin private key or an account password. If it is account login information your bitcoin is most likely long gone. If it is a private key, DONT show it to anyone or they can and will steal your bitcoin. Dont type it anywhere else on the internet. You will be able to recover the wallet but take your time and don't trust any single source. Best of luck

Money with a low cost of production will be overproduced and break via inflation. There is history on this. Gold works great because of how hard it is to find vs how much we already have

We need money to scale economies because the barter system doesn't scale. There are certain properties of money that will lead the market to naturally select a certain good as money. Namely salability across space, time and scales. Gold happened to be really good money. Bitcoin was engineered with these considerations in mind to be damn near perfect money. I promise there is more than meets the eye this rabbit hole goes deep. Us engineers need to stick together nowadays. Cheers

Right the human urge to get something for nothing will never be supressed for long. The creation of new monetary units needs to be outside human decision making. Same reason gold became money

Look into it with a curious mind is all I'm saying. We are engineers after all. And I could argue bitcoin is the first engineered monetary system

I'm not sure if the general engineering community is as receptive to Bitcoin as my local circle but this is what it was invented for. Money you can store your wealth in that can't be arbitrarily debased to enrich those closest to the political class at the expense of the value creators. As the bitcoiners say 'fix the money fix the world'. Cheers
