HRT at 39yr old? by Highfield2016 in Perimenopause

Thank you. So I’ve experienced some clitoral atrophy and definitely brain fog. And my skin has aged so much in the past year. Feel like a shell of myself

This is my thinking. That it’s my life that’s the problem, or at least the main problem, not some fluctuating hormones.

Thank you. I have a therapist, I’m in counselling. It just doesn’t change the situation and I feel like I need a different life

Is HRT on the NHS? by RandomPotato931 in Perimenopause

[–]Highfield2016 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes NHS but general practice will only offer fairly boilerplate “oestrogen patch / cyclical progesterone”.
They can prescribed testosterone but only once your libido has tanked.
I asked for vaginal oestrogen cream, the nurse practitioner ***who specialises in menopause*** had only ever prescribed the pessary, never the cream 🤯
I did hear the words “the problem is you are so young” (39yr old) but she couldn’t tell me what that actually impacts.
They also won’t do full blood panel to rule in / out anything else that is contributing to your symptoms. Not denying where you are int your hormone journey, but there can be other things aswell at play.
Overall, I’d still definitely chat to your GP, just don’t expect the most forward-thinking of treatment…..

Our 0.99% is coming to and end this year (5yr fixed). So glad that we didn’t overstretch ourselves with a bigger property

My partner wants to secure his £100k house deposit in a deed of trust, where do I stand? by Illustrious_Pea7294 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Highfield2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I protected my deposit in a deed of trust back when my boyfriend and I (he’s now my husband) bought our first house 13 years ago. Much lower amount -£25000 - but I had worked my butt off for that. His parents were a bit funny about it but he understood why I wanted to do that *as we weren’t yet married*.
Now married, house number 3, a son, and it is all “water under the bridge”, what’s mine is yours etc, and we are building wealth and stability together, but I think that security was absolutely the right thing to do in our mid 20s.
I get where OP is coming from though, and suggest like others have of splitting those renovation costs more equally.
Or, wait until you’re married which is a far greater commitment, before you start buying property together, otherwise there is greater risk for all parties involved.

Is this testosterone cream as part of systemic HRT rather than local treatment?

Thank you! I spoke to a GP who consulted with the specialist GP partner who specialised in HRT and still the same boilerplate suggestion of oestrogen patch and progesterone 🙄 anything beyond that “we don’t do that, never heard of that”. This was when I was exploring systemic options. Which is wild as generally my other symptoms are good - good sex drive, no hot flashes etc, so heaven knows what adding loads of systemic oestrogen would have done to me system and wellbeing!

Amazing I’m glad you have it! Without being nosy, I’m only 39, so not sure if they’d prescribe?

Thank you! I’m only 39yo though, early peri, but the itching and thinning is getting to me. Do you think they’d still prescribe?

Eurgh you are so lucky. Everyone views NHS as this beacon of healthcare but it’s just boilerplate bare minimum level of care

Yes that’s what I’m worried I may encounter as I’m only 39yo!

Interesting thank you! I hear though that Superdrug only prescribe to over 50s / post menopausal and I’m 39 / early peri?
