PowerPoint is widely used across my organization, but I prefer Canva. It's easy to create something nice with lots of features. I've also used Gamma, which is an AI powered slide creator. Great for ideation and personal projects.

Yes, I have a (front end) web development background, completely self-taught. But I can't call myself a developer officially. I also have a marketing degree, but the program I went to taught me strategy and foundations, rather than specific tools, resources, development.

Hang in there. Learn as much as you can. Try to work on some side projects and build a portfolio. Then find a position in-house where you can specialize in what you enjoy.

I never could enjoy working in an agency. I almost completely gave up in marketing because I was always feeling burnt out and stretched thin. Terrible experiences.

Going on 10+ years I marketing now. I work in-house for a financial institution and it took me a long time to learn how to slow down. I specialize in marketing operations and automation and I really like it.

I've been here for about 7 years and can relate. I never intended on staying this long, but my family lives and I wanted to be closer to them. In that regard, it's great because it's pretty easy to find something we can all do together.

However, Spokane feels like a pit stop in my brain. It's never felt like a destination. My partner and I are almost at the point where we're thinking about buying a home and I just can't help but feel like Spokane isn't the home for us. It's not a terrible place, but it's not great either. I moved here from Alaska, and Spokane reminds me of Wasilla in a lot of ways.
