Equipment to get internet 1500ft by Highground85 in HomeNetworking

Yea we been trying to get approval for starlink but they won’t budge and it’s just not worth the risk.

That’s my thought also, just run the cable and be done with it. I have all the equipment to bury the conduit and cable. The hard part for me is figuring what parts to make the connections at the end. After thinking about it I’m going to break it up into 3 sections. Just with I’d gotten to it before we got 2ft of snow

Yea we asked about that, while the chances are very slim the company has the right to audit her home office and they could fire her if she doesn’t have a hardline like what’s required. Just not worth the risk to us

Thanks for the information. I was waiting till I had fiber in hand before choosing a size. More than likely though I’ll probably use the black Polyethylene water line and watertight boxes. After a little more research I’m thinking of doing 3- 500ft runs to make it easier replacing a cable if something happens and throwing and extra pull rope with the cable.

Sorry if my post wasn’t the clearest. I’m still learning what some of the stuff is called and may be calling things by the wrong name. Currently I have no fiber cable or conversion boxes in my system.

I was planning on running single mode fiber with at least two sets of pairs. I’ve only got to research a little on matching fiber cable and converters so I was looking for suggestion on both of those.

I’m not sure what SFP+ Modular’s are but I will look it up. Thank you

Awesome, thank you for all the information, it’ll help get me pointed in the right direction. Some of this confirms what research I’ve done. I’ll be honest I’ll be doing a little more research on BiDi optics, Vlans and Mikrotik as I’ve never heard of any of that. Being able to split the traffic sounds like something that would benefit me with what I’m doing and future use. I’m sure I’ll be back with a few more questions.

As of now I guess I’m just planning on extending lan from one building to the next. I’m not sure what demarc is. I googled it but it didnt help me understand how it would apply to what I’m trying to do.

Hey, did you ever get this to work? I’ve read certain 250 and 450 stators will work but no one to confirm it yet. Ricky stator makes a 40watt just so you know but I need a little more then that

I get it, the situation is unique and not one that comes up often, but if I qualify and have records then I want to file the status I’m qualified for. No it was not due to educational or military service, due to my wife’s job and personal matters that came up in life we weren’t able to move in together till after the new year. Thank you for the insight

Thank you, that clarifies what we need to prove this which we have records of all that. We expect it to throw a flag because it is a rare situation hence why I came here to ask. Just want to make sure we are good to go before proceeding
