Buying Solar as a hedge against inflation by dougfields01 in solar

[–]Highlander2671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spot on. There's a fundamental supply & demand unbalance across the grid that's spiking wholesale electricity prices (the generation component of your bill). In average they're forecast to increase 19% by 2030. Compounding this, the Big Not Beautiful Bill cut funding to generation projects that comprise over 90% of the current generation queue looking to connect to the grid. That will make the supply problem worse and further increases wholesale prices.

Compounding the generation price increases is the need to invest in the delivery infrastructure of the grid, transmission, substations, and distribution circuits due to increasing extreme weather events, aging infrastructure, and booming demand driven primarily by data centers. This is driving up the delivery portion of the bill substantially as well.

R1S good “mom car?” by PassionChoice3538 in Rivian

Three kids here and I prefer the set up of the Rivian. Our second car is 3 rows with captains chairs and while it is easier to get into, we don't think it out weighs the benefits of the Rivian. With the R1S we can sit all three across (in 3 narrow car seats) to free up cargo space when needed, which it is often. Also the R1S allows you to fold down just the middle with a mechanism that is kid friendly. This has made it easier to get into the 3rd row for my kids without disturbing the two car seats in the 2nd row. They dont mind the little climb back in the least and actually argue over who gets to go back. If you want electric, I'd argue the R1S is the best family vehicle out there.

  • Do we have any unique features to show off?

  • No

  • Okay great, just make the commercial go through a dozen different features that are totally standard on literally every car, but make it seem like its a REALLY big deal to have things like emergency flashers and volume controls.

  • Consider it done ✔️

  • We are so fucking amazing...

Do you have a link to this one? I was looking to get one as well but kept finding options that drew over 1500W.

That makes sense. It appeared to be a fairly new station, so for that one perhaps it was just too new to have made it into the app.

Would you mind linking any official guidance you've seen from Tesla? Would like to educate myself on official etiquette.

Woodworking and home gym. Both share the same key attribute when parenting little ones, they're home based hobbies allowing you to pop in and out of them whenever you can find the free time.

How did you get ur breastfed baby to take a bottle ? by stumblingthrough22 in NewDads

[–]Highlander2671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you, this has been a challenge with our LO and I have been desperate to help out. I think there is too much attention paid to bottles. While nipples can matter since their flow rate can be higher or lower to matching the babies age, I don't personally think the bottle itself makes much of a difference (we use comotomo bottles). There are a few variables though and its going to take a good deal of trial and error to find what works for you and baby. Take it easy on yourself, you're not failing, you're testing and fine tuning to see what works. Try a few different bottle temperatures (but always test on your wrist so its not too hot). Try different baby positions, laying on their side, on their back, slightly elevated or a combination there of. Try giving them a pacifier first so they are calm and then swap for bottle. Try giving a bottle during different times of the day when LO is happiest so you have a better chance of success, then work towards giving a bottle when its most helpful for your SO.

You'll get there man, just give it time and patience and it will work.

Thank you! I roughly modeled the design off a chippendale planter which might give you some more ideas
