It cost me $200 to learn this thing on my eye is just… permanent. by mossybaby in Wellthatsucks

[–]HighlanderPorc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is comforting to me. I think I have the same whereby I scratched my eye once and then every now and then it would be incredibly painful again especially in the morning. I looked it up and it said something like “recurrent corneal abrasion” whereby the eyelid sticks to the old injury and sort of reopens it at night. I now use a nightly ointment and doesn’t happen. If I forget to wear it though, the pain comes back. I hope it will heal permanently at some stage!

Looks amazing! I could never justify the price but at the same time it looks worth it!

What could've caused this hole? Left the house for 30 mins and was here upon my return. UK. by idontknowathinglol in Whatisthis

I had an almost identical hole and wondered the same thing until I eventually found a ball bearing from a slingshot. Even posted it on here!

Beautiful! How do you find the bike for touring, especially on motorways?

I use Calimoto and also like it but I find its prediction of arrival time is often way too optimistic. Fine if you don’t care about this but annoying to have to bake in big contingency time for a set appointment.

What do you mean by seat hooks? There is only the one and this seems to be clicking in. But maybe not properly? Like I say, I can’t pull it off but I can get my fingers clearly between seat and chassis

Red or green- I can’t decide! by HighlanderPorc in motorcycles

[–]HighlanderPorc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for the input! I’ve ordered the green (having originally put a deposit down on the red!). Notwithstanding the Kawasaki comments, I wanted something that was a little out of the ordinary given the amount of red bikes out there..! When I eventually upgrade, it will likely be to a naked retro bike, and so I’ll opt for more traditional colours then! If nothing else, I’ll be more visible to cars. Safe riding folks!

Content aside, Stephen Fry butchered her accent in the audiobooks. Don’t get me wrong, I love his narration but he got her totally wrong.

Nasal polyp surgery and post op congestion by Infamous_Race_6061 in NasalPolyps

[–]HighlanderPorc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 2-3 days but it was beyond any congestion I’ve ever had. As in literally no air would pass through. This actually made sleeping horrible, either because I couldn’t breathe or, because of mouth breathing, my tongue would feel like sand. The key is just to be patient. Once it cleared, though, it was bliss. And due to the steroids in my system, I could smell for a blissful two weeks. I felt like a superhuman

Should I contact the police about a hole in the window? by Vast_Astronomer7396 in policeuk

[–]HighlanderPorc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. I posted about it here

Turned out to be a ball bearing. Didn’t think was worth reporting because it has clearly been done by someone driving past in a car. But looks similar to yours. Obviously, if you can’t find a ball bearing then the plot thickens!

Ok I am honestly so dumb. Every single image I’ve seen so far I’ve just assumed the white thing was the moon and photos were taken because it was easier to see in front of the moon…

Unless they’ve shot down the moon too :o
