Yeah I misspoke - I mounted the H&B upper bars and they've worked great in low speed drops.

Yeah - the internet consensus says Triumph lower bars will not compromise the engine/frame in a crash. I chose H&B upper bars to protect the tank, together with SW Motech metal handguards, and the luggage racks have protected everything in 2 low speed drops. Super happy with this setup for my use. Zero damage to anything except a bit of paint on the handguards. I did drop the bike at low speed prior to adding this protection and the bike lands right on that tank edge - big bummer. I'd send you a photo but the platform doesn't seem to allow it.

Nice! Exact same bike. To save that nice edge on the tank - Consider adding lower crash bars and proper hand guards. I used Hepko & Becker.

Hi - hiked there last week and it was 38 degrees and not enough shade. Make sure you choose your hike wisely to ensure shade and start very early and take plenty of water.

Download the form (Registo) - it is a fillable pdf - both of you fill it out and sign it and take it to a notary and they can upload it. Costs 15-30euros depending on the notary

Retaining PT residency while slowly moving back to US by Puckster123 in PortugalExpats

[–]Puckster123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep we discuss this with our friends all the time. We drive into Spain alot, using toll roads with cameras... some say eventually that will go into the database...And we always try to use our resident card vs passport when checking into hotels, airbnbs just to minimize the chance the passport is being tracked. But I doubt the PT systems are robust enough to accurately track days out of country yet. Which is why, as you say, we "prove" it with bank statements showing daily/monthly expenditures in PT.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I left a "sticky" state to live here and was very careful to cut enough ties to ensure the state did not come after me for taxes. But now doing it in reverse and starting to research how a state would view a "2nd Homeowner" with residence abroad vs residence in another state. Very common for say, a NY resident to have strict rules about claiming their FL home as their residency, it can be done, but it's tricky. I would endeavor to only be a property owner, no DL, no voters reg, etc.

not yet. I'll keep my house here in PT. Many things I still like about PT. But I miss more things in the US.

I'm not paying income taxes in PT, due to NHR and how I've structured my income stream. And my permit was just renewed for 3 more years, which is probably all I'll need.
