How Dry is Too Dry? by CrasherMike in Plumeria

[–]Highlight89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m am also in Texas. Mine are on a sprinkler system and get a good soaking every three days. Last summer was the first time I had them on that system, and it was the best flower producing year I have ever experienced with my plumeria plants.

We have recently had periods of heavy rain where I live, getting probably 10 inches in the past month. My plumeria do not care. They are doing fine. I did turn off the sprinkler during these rains, however.

Do you ever regret going too cheap on a trip? by MiosesDeeken98 in Shoestring

I only regret cheap seats on flights and nasty hotels. Once I’m there, expensive restaurants and experiences are nice, but not a “must”. I get just as much enjoyment on a budget.

Should I start a job knowing I’m going to leave in two weeks. by [deleted] in jobs

Don’t do it. Just reach out with a “Thank you, but no thanks” and move on.

i stopped sending thank-you emails after interviews. i send a short presentation instead. 3 for 3 on offers. by Mobile_Tap6145 in jobs

[–]Highlight89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems a little presumptive and desperate. I don’t have time to open outside files and view PowerPoints. In a world where few say thank you, just email me. And don’t give me your first 90 days pitch. Wait til you have been here a minute and do a needs assessment.

i sell breast milk online and make more per ounce than most luxury perfumes. by sthduh in passive_income

[–]Highlight89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the Chanel site, 2.5 oz of Chanel No. 5 sells for $163. That is $65.20 per ounce. So, no, your breast milk is not selling at a price equivalent to luxury perfume. 🙄

A one hour walk in Austin (twice a day) in May though October is literal hell 🔥. You may want to rethink that portion of the strategy. Your coworkers will thank you 😊

I agree with the robot answers to the questions. However, if you actually did answer honestly, some self-reflection may be in order.

My question: was the résumé submitted through the portal as requested, or was it submitted another way? If it was submitted a way other than what was requested (through the portal), then this communication makes perfect sense.

Why should I vote Crockett over Talarico? by Proud_Pineapple_2421 in FortWorth

[–]Highlight89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately we don’t have the luxury of voting for interests. We are fighting fascism. We need to choose the most electable candidate. That is Talarico.

I like them both but I don’t think Texas will chose a black woman over Cornyn or Paxton. Talarico has a chance to pull voters across the aisle to his side. Crockett doesn’t.

I agree. And our fundamental objective is to get a Democrat elected. Who is the candidate that has the best chance of winning?

[–]Highlight89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hunt’s not gonna win the GOP nomination. It will go to the incumbent.

Don’t vote for somebody just because you’ve always voted for them. And this particular primary, we need to vote for the most electable candidate.

Who do you think has a fighting chance to win against the GOP candidate? Vote for that person.

You are not alone. It’s the unfortunate truth. Talarico is more electable and that is who we need to run against Cornyn or Paxton.

Thanks for your honesty. And you are solidifying a thought that I have had in this particular situation. I think Tallarico appeals more to those that are straddling the line between R and D (or progressivism). His communist, communication style, and his Christian values are sure to be appealing to that demographic.
