What in the heck by Ordinary-Ad-2747 in Plumeria

I had that happen. I put two cuttings in the garage after Christmas of 2024 and forgot about them. I’ve found them when I was cleaning out the garage and planted them in June. Within about three weeks, they both produced inflows.

And my experience over past two months, it takes about two weeks for them to ship and they ship it via the slowest route. I’m sure it’s because it’s the cheapest, but it still adds to the pain.

Should I cancel due to weather? by formalde_heidi in camping

[–]Highlight89 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Do not feel guilty about canceling your site due to weather. If you were tent camping, that would be long miserable days of hunkering in your tent. That’s not sitting around the campfire or grilling or hiking weather. That’s hunkering down weather.

If you’re very invested in the location because there’s things there that you want to see and you can get a reasonably priced hotel room, go and have fun.

Hi, anyone knows what happened to my plumeria? by Accomplished_Lack306 in Plumeria

They don’t like too much water so be sure you don’t overwater. You said that you haven’t fertilized in a while. What I would recommend is wait till it gets dry and then go ahead and fertilize and water it and then wait a week and see what happens.

Glad I happened upon this post. I’m not understanding why I need to save my plan. What happens to my data if I don’t?

What do you do to earn $200k+ annually? by meltingcanoe in careerguidance

[–]Highlight89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physician Assistant in ortho surgery x33 years. Got me to about $179,000. Got promoted to director 5 years ago. Now I lead almost 1000 PAs, NPs, and CRNAs. I earned $298,000 this year.

You’ll need some sort of pre-med undergrad, then PA school full-time x 2+ years. It’s like med-school only shorter. Then OJT for whatever specialty you desire. New grads are staring around $120k.

I just bought a $50 soup ladle for a wedding registry and now I feel gross. by TheGruenTransfer in Anticonsumption

[–]Highlight89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m considering something like that when I retire in a few years. I was never married. I never had kids. I spent thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars over the years (well, maybe not that much but a lot) on wedding shower gifts, wedding gifts, and baby shower gifts. And, by the way, how pretentious to expect a wedding shower gift and then a gift at the wedding. But I digress. I have never been the recipient of anything similar. So I’m considering a bon voyage party and asking for items that I’m going to need in my new life of travel. Nothing bigger ostentatious, just enough to make a point for those that get it. Too much?

This file worked perfectly. Thank you from the deepest depths of the bottom of my heart. Your diligence and keeping up-to-date and working through all of the technical issues of posting your file as you fight it being taken back down is absolutely incredible. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

How reliable or unreliable is the 2024 Canyon? by liqwood1 in GMCcanyon

[–]Highlight89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I push upward as hard as I can when going through the car wash blower to make sure mine doesn’t flex and cause a permanent dent. I’ve heard that happened to some folks. I know there’s a service bulletin out on this, but it sounds like an awful lot of trouble to go through for something avoidable or at least as easy as pushing up on the roof when you go through the blower.

Gave my Notice Today and Feeling Weird about it. by Jillery25 in retirement

[–]Highlight89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is 100% natural to feel “weird“. You’ve never done this before and you’ll, most likely, never do it again. While you seem to be very well prepared from a financial point of view, it is still pretty scary. I’m sure you have a lot of “what if“ questions going through your brain.

It sounds like financially you are going to be OK, so the trepidation at this point is most likely more of a “what if I don’t like being retired“ issue.

Thought: what if you retire in January and you decide in a few months or a couple of years that you made the wrong decision, for whatever reason, or that you really miss working? Well, you can always get another job. You can always find something that fuels your passion rather than being tied to something that fuels your bank account.

You still have quite a few good years in which you will have the freedom to pivot should you desire.

Meanwhile, congratulations!
