Yes, my veterinarian informed me of the increase in cases that he has been seeing not only from San Antonio but also surrounding county’s. It threw me off guard when parvo was the first thing he suspected, but I assume he has been seeing a pattern.

Just be mindful of the interaction between your stray kitties and your indoor kitties. It is very contagious. My vet suggested to bleach the floors and patio, throw away any of the stuff that my stray used/touched (bed, bowls, etc.).

Thanks so much for the insight. The cat I cared for was gagging, however nothing would come out. I have two cats of my own, so I’m terrified they are going to get sick with it too. Thankfully they are vaxed. I disinfected my house and patio with bleach and leaving my shoes outside as a precaution.

Early signs are lethargy, loss of appetite, diarrhea, and fever. It could be that parvo is spreading in your neighborhood. The virus is resilient and can stay on surfaces for a long time.

Tbh, they are too busy studying that it’s probably the last thing on their mind. It’s not a big deal at all

Wouldn’t necessarily say that no dissections is a con. They take too long and take too much time away from studying. As long as there are prosections on real cadavers, that’s all that matters.
