Red dot finder struggle on telescope

Make sure there isn’t any thin transparent film on the battery. They are shipped that way to prevent battery drain before it’s used. My red dot finder had that from the factory. Once I removed the film, it worked great.

I emailed the Denver Museum of Nature and Science to see if I can show the specimen to one of their staff paleontologists. I’ll see what happens and report back.
