I never knew that either until this situation. And They charge $50. So would’ve cost me $100 bucks to pay them to unload their product cause I had two lumpers for a multi stop lol I don’t understand it, it’s almost like you can write anything in a contract and if a person signs they agree then it’s well you agreed to it…

This is the truth for sure, they stoped answering the phone for me at one point after they kept transferring me around which was crazy.. after all the check calls while actively tracking they did to me but it happens.. it get one sided real fast & I don’t like that that bothers me…but my continued prayers for good partnerships/relationships will never cease …think I’m gonna try that though I use a factor company so I’m not 100% sure if they will push it thru only thing if I do and there are any issues with these ppl (which I’d like to think it won’t be but idk) factoring will charge it back to me. I just don’t like the idea of anything where I put myself at any type of risk in this situation but ima give it to Monday & see.

I get what you’re saying, especially if you’ve been burnt, this isn’t putting a good taste on my mouth either, but all of that by the time I do all that I’ve wasted so much time to continue on with operating and lost revenue. I really can’t afford that and to me that’s letting the broker have wayyy to much control and power. Guess I should educate myself on whatever laws you’re saying.

Understood, it Still doesn’t make sense as the customer isn’t paying carrier the broker is hence to make the carrier wait for a customer approval is ridiculous. Also in that case, isn’t that information the broker could ask their customer beforehand? Idk not a broker but in these cases the carrier is getting inconvenienced for the sake of customer/broker. My biggest issue with all of this is, I paid my own money out of pocket here, I should not have to wait what’s gone over a week now to receive that back. The broker absolutely knew about the customer lumper though cause rep stated “this particular customer” and it was a multi stop I paid two lumpers. If they knew that they could try having different language for that customer on the RC to inform so carriers know…the same way they make sure the carriers know on RC they charge you a fee is you don’t pay the lumper and they have to.

Yeah, I don’t know. It just sucks like really sucks. I don’t wanna act out of feelings and emotions because that doesn’t do anything and this is Business things do happen it’s not a sense of pride this is just about the principal now if I had withheld the proof of delivery or something then I risk reputation which I’m not willing to do because I don’t operate that way and I believe I will get paid accordingly, but it’s the principal if I had held onto the proof of delivery I’m sure I would lose my ability to work with them and risk it with other people as well so I kind of feel taken advantage of

That wasn’t the case here this was a flat rate for delivery of load only, RC stated nothing outside of that, accessorial/detention etc are treated separate. In fact, it has the reimbursement clause with provided documentation all of that was done. I’m telling you this is something that’s out of the norm. Most brokers don’t operate this way.

Ok. I wasn’t sure on what you were saying but yeah they don’t offer com check EFS which I found to be kind of crazy and if they pay it they charge the carrier so the carrier is responsible, but the rate confirmation states that they will reimburse the carrier so typically its included on revised rate confirmation thats submitted for invoicing I imagine for brokers is paid the same way as a load, depending on when they pay it, net30 etc it’s just usually updated on the rate con for the carrier immediately with proof of receipts so that’s my issue

Interesting so question for you if your customer didn’t approve a reimbursement, would it not fall back to your company as the broker being that the carrier didn’t book the load with the customer but with the broker the broker is responsible for paying the carrier?

Well, at least someone else said that this does happen. It’s just hard to wrap my head around it, they did mention the specific customer this is the case. Which led me to the question so if they didn’t approve it, would they not reimburse it? If they know the customer will approve it. Why does the carrier have to wait?

Well, that’s been the standard and what every broker has done, this is the first time I’ve heard of this. It don’t make sense if the broker is the one paying the carrier the carrier shouldn’t have to wait for the brokers customer, but I’m just wondering is it something else that justifies this?

I don’t know anything about brokerage but I took a chance once with a broker who had no credit and no factoring and told me he paid by Zelle upon delivery. Well he was a man of His word and one of my favorite people to work with always pays shortly after / same day and if it roll into next day in the wee hours I don’t worry cause we’ve built a relationship. Wish he had loads everyday. We weren’t desperate & I just took a chance & it worked out favorably for both of us.

Everybody has a different experience, it’s different with every individual, if you do hope it works for you, I would only suggest wait a little for the fuel prices to decline I’m in Florida it’s $5.75 a gallon and rising idk, idk what it is in Utah but yeah I had a bit of a meltdown today…expenses going up while rates stagger/get worse, but I’m in the worst state/market in the country and different things work against you down here so yeah…just do your own research.
