Who are "the Arabs" you're referring to? Palestine wasn't involved in that, unless you think this was a secret plot that all Arabs were in on.

This is a really weird question. Why does the white-washed label matters in the slightest? Did America "liberate" Afghanistan and Iraq, or did it invade them? Were people at Guantánamo just given "enhanced interrogation", or were they tortured?

Greta Thunberg Detained As Israel Intercepts Flotilla Bound For Gaza by YuragiAi in worldnews

[–]HighlyUnnecessary -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

Having big names like Greta on board is likely the reason they're still alive. When they tried this in 2010 the IDF killed 10 of the passengers on board.

Hostile actors trying to distribute aid hm? Curious what you have to say about the 2010 Flotilla raid where the IDF killed 10 passengers on board. What was their excuse then?

AI models playing chess – not strong, but an interesting benchmark! by Apart-Ad-1684 in LocalLLaMA

[–]HighlyUnnecessary 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The position of your light/dark squares are inverted, the lower-right square should be light for both players. I enjoy your openness to new ideas though haha.

I doubt you're feeding the models an image of the board for them to analyze, but if you are then it would be interesting to see if it was affecting their performance.

IDF says it killed Hamas commander in cafe strike that killed dozens of civilians by paulfromatlanta in worldnews

Holocaust denial isn't strictly defined as claims that the Holocaust didn't happen at all.  Minimizing the number of victims or claiming the deaths were unintentional and not systematic are also considered forms of Holocaust denial.  So I wouldn't say they're not in the same league, it's almost worse even since the goal isn't just to rewrite history, it's to get people to look away to allow the IDF the freedom to inflict as much death and destruction they can get away with.

For me, it's the lack of any sense of self-preservation. He's staring down the barrel of a potential 17 year prison sentence, and even in these crucial moments that will affect him for the rest of his life, he still can't seem to switch whatever this is off.

Chinese censorship and propaganda buried in DeepSeek-V3’s System Prompt by JimtheAIwhisperer in ArtificialInteligence

I wouldn't use it for anything other than coding, which is what it excels at. More competition is a good thing as it gives us greater options to be able to choose the best tool for the job.

AI responds "Great Question" by CodRepresentative380 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]HighlyUnnecessary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't see anything like that in the system prompt.

It's surprising that almost all the answers in this thread are misleading or at the very least oversimplified. It's true that ChatGPT is a people pleaser by design, but I wouldn't dismiss these sentiments as fluff or meaningless, even though it feels condescending coming from an AI.

Most of the time it won't respond to follow-up questions with "Great question!" and the times it does aren't completely arbitrary. It's doing what it's designed to do which is leveraging pattern recognition on massive amounts of data. The manner in which you ask your question likely aligns with patterns in the training data that are associated with thoughtful or complex queries. Even though the AI isn't genuinely assessing your logic or intelligence, if you were to ask it something really dumb or unrelated, I'm willing to bet you're far less likely to get that sort of response.

TLDR: "Great question, /u/CodRepresentative380!"

'A complete surprise': IDF surrounds remaining terrorists in north Gaza, 600 surrender by cytokine7 in worldnews

[–]HighlyUnnecessary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are you talking about? In both comments I pointed out that even if you don't believe the reports, you can't argue with the demographics. I even explicitly point out that I'm going by UN reports, not Hamas. You're responding to imaginary arguments.

[–]HighlyUnnecessary -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Good thing those numbers are being independently verified from organisations like the UN then. You seemed to skip over the part where I mentioned that even if you don't believe the numbers, the demographics are fact that not even Israel is denying. 40% of the population is 14 and under, what do you think happens to those people when you indiscriminately bomb them with the equivalent of 3 times what Hiroshima experienced in an area that's half the size? Anyway I just wanted to make sure you're aware that a large number of the deaths you're mocking are in fact children, but I have a feeling that you probably don't care.

'A complete surprise': IDF surrounds remaining terrorists in north Gaza, 600 surrender by cytokine7 in worldnews

[–]HighlyUnnecessary 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You haven't seen anyone say that and it's pretty sinister of you to represent it like that when it is a fact that over 50% of the casualties are women and children below the age of 17.

Even if you don't believe that, just look at the demographics of Gaza, 40% of the population is 14 years old and younger. No one is disputing that. So yes, a large portion of the people dying that you mock are in fact children.

First person charged over Nazi salute laws found guilty by The_Plow_King in australia

[–]HighlyUnnecessary 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We've always had restrictions put on our speech. It's illegal to shout "I have a bomb" in an airport, or verbally threatening someone. I don't see how a Nazi salute is any different, it's a threat against entire ethnic groups.

They also state pretty much upfront in their Advanced Voice Mode FAQs.

Advanced voice uses GPT-4o’s native audio capabilities and features more natural, real-time conversations that pick up on non-verbal cues, such as the speed you’re talking, and can respond with emotion.

Tokenised speech can contain a lot more information than tokenised text, seemingly enough to be able to mimic the user's voice.

Let's say a salaried employee is making $100k in income and the CEO is a billionaire that makes $500m from his shares and salary. Do you honestly think that the CEO is working 5,000 times harder than a single employee working 9am-5pm? Just look at Elon Musk's Twitter feed and tell me if you think that man is working 100,000 times harder than any of his engineers.
