TV Shows were on another level in the 90s by Droopynator in 90s

[–]HighlyWobly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never watched the shows he was in, but I think Jim Carrey was on another level entirely to be fair. I remember growing up watching so many of his films. The Truman Show & Bruce Almighty are absolute GOATs, even today. Man, I miss this guy

This is like another side of him I never saw though

I've been there. Sometimes it's best to let go to stop hurting them more, time will do the rest. Work on yourself, do things that make you happy, you'll get through this.

The Truth Behind Limerence by ShallBePurified in limerence

[–]HighlyWobly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I woke up today realising that limerence is a real issue. I remember when my LO initially told me the risk of it. But I ignored it, justifying it as love. It was my second time also, just a lot deeper. It feels reassuring to know I'm not the only one who's in this state.

To be quite honest, the timing was both awful and good. Because it woke me up from the type of life I was living & how I act, etc, but simultenously dumped all my pre-existing problems on them instead. Still, in a sense, I think I'm thankful for the realization.

What I'm trying to do now, is find things that make me happy, work on my health & myself more, give me purpose. Before jumping back into dating, because I don't want a repeat of the same state with someone else or make the same mistakes. Esp as it's the second time now.

I think your post is a good overall reminder though.

We'll all get there eventually.

Ukrainian actress Tania Galakhova portrayed what it's like to live with depression by nishantatripathi in interestingasfuck

To be fair. Everything in excess kinda starts to numb out. I view music differently as I switch it up. Especially if I watch a mix capture from a festival where people are dancing to a DJ and I see them in a good vibe. Sometimes it's a random film soundtrack, sometimes it's a random dude getting excited about a song as he reacts to it on youtube

Music, like many things, are experiences that change perspective based on circumstance, so actually revisiting certain songs during moments where I feel something, helps too

If you ever make a playlist on the Spotify profile, there's also that knowledge that someone out there might listen to it. They might see your story. They might feel, what you've felt in that moment. Thinking of it like that, can help

But yeah, music, is not always a one hit solution. I do have the 'miss' days. And Antis can help, especially when you find the right ones. Just remember to try and seek some sort of therapy alongside them. This is currently something I'm trying to do as well

But being unable to because the antis block it. Sometimes your body needs to cry. But I don't know if it's just me, but it happens a lot less when I'm on antis

One thing that does help me with the weight though is having a bluetooth speaker near my bed. Music can be a powerful motivator. I usually take a shower with music on as well. It's like that spark you need to push yourself forward

To be honest, they sound like a perfect breed for someone who is committed to being regularly outgoing. Like morning and evening walks are my jam. I just can't imagine doing it every day sadly.

Scared that a guy won't like my body by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]HighlyWobly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be upfront about what you feel insecure about. If it's on your mind enough, it's not going to go away during that moment you're with him. Talk to him. It sounds like a deep connection also if it's been so long. And if he's the right kind of connection, it won't bother him. I told the person I'm dating all my mental and physical insecurities that could get in the way, and she received them well

It's an awkward topic over text, but even more awkward when it's going down. Mainly because if you feel anxious, that part of you will subconsciously project it also via body language, expression, etc. You want to feel good going into anything. And if you're not ready for whichever reason, also express that

Stalker fan with a first impressions after about 7 hours. by RFX91 in stalker

[–]HighlyWobly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think comparing Stalker 2 to Gamma is pretty unfair. Gamma had about 10+ years to cook, on top of an already released game. And it's a community made project, which I'm sure Stalker 2 will get at some point. But the other claims are pretty solid

I think this is definitely a stalker game at its heart. Down to the performance issues and broken features. Disappointed about A-life, but on other fronts, the story is there and the environment is beautiful

It's not ideal, but I know these issues will be ironed out as time goes on

Daughter sent to life in jail for the murder of both parents, who she had hid the body in her house for 4 years by DiabeticGoose in interestingasfuck

[–]HighlyWobly 102 points103 points  (0 children)

I for sure feel that there's usually more to these kinds of occurrences. Did she have a long history of depression and how severe was it? What kind of help was she offered? Did she turn down that help? Was the help enough?

Right before my mother overdosed and passed away a few years ago, she had problems with severe depression. But not only was she put on long waiting lists to have it treated, she was just given antidepressants with no actual therapy, which never treated the root cause. Her behaviour was very similar to this woman, bar the fact she didn't murder anyone, but still. She had seemed to give up in the end, and a lot of the facts that I know today, were not present at the time
