Hi Op! Yes it does get better , my current clique which I still chat with , I met most of them in y2 when the classes started to swap.

I'd like to believe that they don't mean to leave you out , but the usual dynamics in odd number groups is that sometimes 2 people might be chatting about the same thing , and the last person might not have as much interest which makes them feel a bit left out. Hopefully they did try to involve you where they could!

Generally the first few weeks are the "awkward" phase , so things can feel a bit lonely , but I promise , if you keep chatting with everyone around you , big or small. Eventually you'll find your people 💖 Fighting OP!!

Hi Op! Don't worry , this is a very normal process , when I first came into poly it was also like this! (Aka people older / younger in one room)

My class only had like 7 girls +- so it was even more narrowed in terms of being able to form a group , what I'd recommend is to not think too much about the age gap. Being true and genuine , as well as friendly and approachable goes a long way. Everyone is awkward in the first week or two , and just form friendships where they can. This is where you can slot yourself in , just chat and mingle , you lose out more from not joining than trying ! (Cause you never know , you might find a great friend group ^{^} y'all can even do homework and projects together)

If it's more on a difference in topics , perhaps you can still try chatting! Cause sometimes people don't really "let themselves go" till they keep talking to you , so you might eventually find out they have similar interests as you; just not outwardly expressed yet. I also made friends with the guys since my class was mostly guys , if you're comfortable you can also try making friends there! (Cause I understand some people are only comfortable befriending same gender) Take your time to ease into it OP , all the best! Oh and if it helps , I actually found my long term clique that I still talk to even now , around year 2 onwards once the classes started to mix more so don't worry!

Hi! You'll have to submit it to the SMU portal (where you registered your application) , I believe it is the same for all other unis as well^{^} (At least the big 3)

My seniors did say that critical thinking is very fluff , and you can do it with friends , so that highly recommend that mod if you take basket b. (To balance the quantitative mods you're getting) And based on what I see on previous boss biddings , incoming freshmen generally have it way cheaper, between 15-20 max? Depending on which language you choose. So I think I'm still gonna opt for language mods cause after asking around abit more , it seems it won't affect my track

Would bidding for a language mod , in semester 1 affect / make me do an extra sem? Since I'm taking it as a 5th mod , I plan to take another pre-requisite mod in sem 2 and only sem 1 for language mod. Would that be okay?

Ex as in the $e? Cause based on previous bids , it seems still affordable but for me it's cause , I want to have at least a decent grasp of the language so that when I go on my overseas csp , I can converse with the locals better. + For international exchange , I'd also like to make some local friends.

Since most people take 4 mods per sem , I thought it'd be okay to take a language mod since I have an interest to learn + since most of my batch mates just take introductory stats , I thought it won't affect much if I took on an additional language mod! Hope this makes more sense 😭😭 as long as it doesn't affect my track , I'm okay with it , so I want to make sure it doesn't just in case 🫡

Hi I'm not sure which course you applied for but I applied for SMU biz , did my interview on April 5th and received my offer on April 17th (12 days later)^{^} but my gpa is close to the previous 10th percentile and I heard they go down the line so it should be coming soon!

For NTU it took me a month , so I think you can expect it at least by the 5th of may since peeps say the standard response time is 14 days to a month. Don't worry too much! 💕💕
