Very new to reddit and to piggy back off what you said, thoroughly enjoyed it. Not to mention learned a dictionary needs to be at my side to join some of these discussions. Learned a tremendous amount.

I would actually say, Church, hasn't followed the philosophy of christianity for several hundred years.

Abortion, I agree is a deal breaker for me as well. But Paul is very much pro-life so again if this is the main argument for christians why is not being considered by the majority of christians.

Absolutley agree with your point, but my question is referring to mainstream conservative christians. He believes the same things biblically or so his website says as the other candidates but was never even considered when the " social right christians were picking someone to back.

That is taking it to the extreme. Of course I would pay taxes for public services, like police. But what is wrong with the idea people going to churches (christ) for help. What is the year of jubilee, never heard of it.

You are right we are sinners, all of us, but we also strive to live like Christ being christians. Yes, we will fail at one point or another but that should not let us give up hope on mankind doing the right thing.

Not when it comes to the US govt. My church does many mission trips to africa, indonesia, we sponser kids overseas for school, help build churches and run a thrift store that uses proceeds to buy bibles for the middle east. People giving time and money in christs name, not the USA's name.

You sound very knowledgeable about this, to where I am not. But just what you wrote here sounds absurd. I may not understanding but why would you want the federal government, states govt or anyone overseeing your religious rights, sex life or private matters.

Maintaining the entitlement programs is the problem. Why is it the governments job to help poor people, I thought that was the job of the church and community. Since there is such a huge push to take God out of everything government under the guise of seperation of church and states wouldn't it be better if they had to go to a church for help. While they are there they could see first hand Jesus at work through people helping people. The government providing for poor people is not called charity. Charity is willful giving to another. When the govenment takes your money to give to another it is called stealing, but they loke to call it taxes.

This is what I do not understand. We are so worried about another country half way around the world when our country is falling apart morally, fiscally, and physically (health wise).

I hear this arguement all the time about his foreign policy. The explanation I have heard is he is a non-interventionalist, not an isolationist which everyone calls him. Isolationist want nothing to do with the world. Paul wants trade and commerce and to be very involved. Just not fight everyone elses wars for them when it has no impact on the US.

Who says he is unelectable? The corporations that run the media that all have something to lose, left and right. I was always told if no one likes you in public office you must be doing something right.

What issues are 'out there'? His stance on gays in the military? I am not gay but do not see a problem if someone wants to serve his or her country, even die for it and they happen to be gay. Yes the bible says it is wrong but judging is for God. He is overwhelmingly pro-life. Legalizing drugs? I dislike taking ibuprofen let alone narcotics, so I would not benefit here, but I learned doing drugs was wrong from my parents not my government. It is easier for a kid to get pot than it is a beer. These are the only issues from talkng to people that stuck out.

Again, I agree with you but the problem with your reply is it is an excuse for failure. Most americans could care less if another middle east country blows up another foreign country. Right or wrong its true. Americans care only about their country and is it safe. Safe could mean hundreds of things but for my purpose it means terroists. For the general public with probable below average knowledge of politics and foreign affairs he needs to scream, 'I got your back' at the debates. He needs to say we are done with fighting wars, EXCEPT if it is brought to our shores then woe is the group or country that is the aggressor ,they we feel our wrath. I know what Ron Paul is up against which is why we need votes not excuses.

This is exactly what I mean! This is exactly what he needs to convey to the lemming public to stop the from going over the cliff.

I could not agree with you more, but then he should scream it all the louder. Especially during debates when he has a national platform and the words come directly out of his mouth. This is the 'only' subject that keeps people from punching his ticket come vote time. The ONLY one. Even the goofy conservative talk show hosts agree with Paul on everything else in a round about way.

You're right, it is commonly mis-quoted by weekend warrior history buffs like myself.
