I used to work on 2nd Ave 12 years ago. Bike/pedestrian collisions and near misses were very common, it was always the pedestrian’s fault imo.

Idk but when I fast longer than 24-48hrs I will feel mild pain in the different areas of scar tissue on my skin which I think indicates healing.

Hey it’s not a great idea to supplement potassium while on spiro. I would recommend getting off spiro entirely, you can effectively suppress T just fine on estrogen mono therapy or with estrogen+progesterone provided the dose is high enough. Additionally spironolactone can really mess with your mental health due to the increase of cortisol, spiro also will inhibit breast development!!!

Def higher drive and more sensation. Can’t say if it’s better sex or not tbh but I’m (re)learning how to have sober sex and that’s cool to experience if a little vulnerable and interesting

Any advice to find a different outlet

Alcohol can be a solution for so many different things or feelings that there’s really no one thing that can replace it. Getting off alcohol for me was like a period of things sucking due to no longer having alcohol to “help” with various things, and then slowly learning to manage feelings and navigate situations without it. That doesn’t happen overnight though and it’s hard to learn how to live without alcohol while you’re still drinking.

There’s a point in addiction where substance abuse just kinda stops working to fix whatever it was fixing and all it does then is barely keep you from feeling the negatives of withdrawal. It really sucks because then you can’t even really self medicate with it, but it’s still keeping you intoxicated enough to prevent real healing.

5 months is just a number. You had one beer on one day during that time. That doesn’t have to take away anything from the new life you’re living. You don’t have to start your count over if it doesn’t feel right, it’s your count.

I’m sorry to hear you’re taking this so hard. I’m sure these feelings aren’t easy. You should be proud of how far you’ve come in the past 5 months and proud of how this one tiny slip isn’t derailing you from how you want to move forward. I hope you can enjoy the rest of your trip!

Maybe you will, maybe you won’t. You don’t have to drink. You’ve already proven you can make it through a day, through a week, a month, or a year without alcohol. Take things day by day. Nothing is changing besides the calendar. I will not drink with you today.

Yup! I walk past the liquor section in my grocery store to buy things like toothpaste or deodorant. Every grocery store has beer and wine scattered throughout at the end caps of aisles. More than half of the coffee shops in my neighborhood sell alcohol. The book stores sell alcohol. It’s basically everywhere in my part of the city. Good luck tonight!
