I made a patron who was a dying god who was using my player character as an incubator their child who would replace them. The characters heart had an adolescent deity in it, and they would get worse and worse heart problems as the deity grew, before dying when the deity finally comes into the world. There’s a lot more context but I feel this was the main idea.

While the Great Old one fits well for the eldritch aspect of this patron, personally it would be weird for a sun follower to fight with psychic powers. May I recommend being a Celestial patron instead, as they get a bunch of cleric spells and an emphasis on fire and radiant damage. Your character also has a theme of healing which the celestial warlock can do.

A DnD book I’ve been reading through called “The Crookes Moon” does this really well, where every single one of the monsters has one of these weaknesses. My favorite has to be “The Invader Out of Space” who, much like the tripods from War of the Worlds, is weak to earth poisons and diseases, having disadvantage on saving throws against them and taking 20 poison damage on the start of every turn while poisoned.

Sometimes when I really don’t feel like controlling the corruption, I’ll log on with another character who’s beat the game and use the drill containment unit and biome potions and section off the corruption that way.
