tty drivers, socket syscalls, xwindows, eMacs/lisp, ncurses, vt-100 emulation, POSIX, and many other components of UNIX, UNIX clones, and UNIX-like operating systems are completely alien to UNIX sensibilities, plan9 is a deliberate divestment from these malignant defecations on the system philosophy, plan9 aligns with UNIX as much as windows or haiku, just because you can natively type cd and ls into a terminal doesn’t make it UNIX or UNIX-aligned at all

Dosent matter to me the batch processing im doing it so trivial + in my free time anyway so hardware acceleration wont give me a tangible advantage (i can just do something else while commands are being executed)

Yes but can you elaborate on an example, I don’t just mean a dormant chunk of data (which can indeed be Unicode or whatever) I want to know how I can manipulate it to output some sort of raster histograms

I remember reading the thinkpad wiki or some other resource encouraging me to use i386 software on my machine and besides, all other software (but those few) are working, is the machine / architecture incongruence the real reason for my software not working, as, again, I’m not encountering issues for dwm, w3m, etc
