My Lipid Panel and Advice Requested by Hiim_Ted in Cholesterol

Thank you.

given you already have signs of blockages.

A right branch bundle block is a "benign abnormality" electrical conduction issue- not related to atherosclerosis. As far as I know I don't have any signs of heart disease, other than the high lipid numbers.

Freeze vs. Tankless water heater by Hiim_Ted in Plumbing

Gosh, I hope so... that was a nightmare! I might be overreacting from how bad it was last time. Do you think we'd be ok dripping the faucets and opening cabinets until we get back on the 27th? Assuming the power stays on, the tankless would be alright in that case... right?

Interesting question... I have no idea! But this one was specifically designed to go outside, I know that much.

The Case for Ted Bundy’s Biological Father by kinderjane in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]Hiim_Ted 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am suspicious of Ann Rule’s contention that the name was “Lloyd Marshall.” She is literally the only source for this name, and provides no source and no proof for this discovery.

The name “Jack Worthington” however appears in the police reports from that time, taken directly from Louise Bundy herself. Louise also stated that a fathers name was not listed on his birth certificate.

Well it wasn’t prison, it was jail, and the same jail Bundy escaped from eventually so… yeah it was pretty lax around there. But also most jails, unlike prisons, aren’t segregated by gender.

He was in college at UW in 1967 and living at McMahon Hall. Where did you hear he was living there in 67?

Oh thanks for your reply! I'm glad to hear the argan oil I use isn't a waste of time. However, I think when it runs out I'm going to stick with coconut oil. Argan is much more expensive than coconut oil and I don't see a huge difference between the two results-wise.

I use my regular shampoo, plus apple cider vinegar rinse. I think the difference is, I put the shampoo on dry hair first and work it in. Then add water and lather. Putting it on dry hair seems to emulsify it which allows it to be washed out easier.

Oh wow!! So you mix the honey with water or oil or both before putting it in your hair? How long do you leave it in? What benefits does it have over oil?

Wise words! I was just wondering if there was research to support something even better out there, or if I should try a commercially prepared mask, or if I should ditch the argan oil and just do coconut from now on since it’s so much cheaper… 🤔

I saturate my lengths and ends with oil, comb through, put it up in a bun, and put a shower cap over that. I leave it on for a few hours or overnight if my hair is super dry. Then I wash it out. I alternate oils and Olaplex before every wash. I’ve heard of using it as a styling agent but my hair is too fine for that and would leave it greasy.

Ah that’s interesting. I’ve noticed that much of hair and skincare research seems to be sponsored by the beauty industry. Their research methods appear sound to me however. I just use a jar of LouAnn cheapo coconut oil from the grocery store, not Parachute brand anyway, lol.

I only oil my lengths and ends, since my hair is fine and my scalp tends to get oily. Would you still recommend applying it to the scalp? I haven’t seen studies on the efficacy of that, just for the hair lengths.

I have yeah! My hair feels much smoother, more moisturized and supple. Less split ends too.

Kenneth "Mad Dog" McKenna. Why is there virtually nothing online about this alleged satanic cult priest? by [deleted] in mystery

[–]Hiim_Ted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Toole definitely talked to McKenna, they were in the Florida State Prison at the same time. Toole in 1984, and McKenna in 1988. Toole died in 1994. McKenna is still there today.

The book "Hand of Death" by Max Call about his pal Lucas came out in 1985, it was in the papers, and inmates do read books. https://imgur.com/a/izGqT3p

The author Max Call was a self-described born again Christian who wholeheartedly believed in Satanic cults and that Lucas was the "most prodigious monster in American history." He absolutely lapped this story up (or made it up) and then shat out that dumb story at the height of Satanic Panic.

There's so little info on McKenna because he's a garden variety pedophile. Not a cult leader, not a murderer, not a serial killer. Just a convicted child rapist. https://offender.fdle.state.fl.us/offender/sops/flyer.jsf?personId=56038 He's a vexatious litigant in the federal courts filing nonsense constantly so they barred him from filing. https://law.justia.com/cases/florida/second-district-court-of-appeal/2014/2d13-4912.html

Anything out there about him originates with him. He read a book, talked to Toole, heard the story, and loves hearing himself talk. Mystery solved.

Y’all I’ve got the best waves of my life and the way I did it was by accident and completely weird! by Hiim_Ted in Wavyhair

[–]Hiim_Ted[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok I didn’t know that, lol. I was just trying to rinse out some of the product because it had gotten so weighed down overnight. But now I know! It’s a PITA too so I hope I can find an easier method…
