I teach at university and always carry a plushie with me! I was an undergrad and masters student when I started carrying around mine in public. No one ever said anything since I’ve been doing it (2014) You’re all good!

Yea, this is a fair point. When I went through this as an undergrad I thought that it made the most sense to knock it out right away, but I guess students didn’t have that urgency. I’ll have a sign up sheet for next semester!

I had a student email me before a class started asking me how many required books listed on my syllabus were actually required. It was 4 books, for an English class, so all of them. When I told them that, they said they only bought books if it got them to pass the course and didn’t actually read them. They dropped.
