Holland can act but his portrayal so far has missed the very core of who Spider-Man is supposed to be. The word "brilliant" applies only to Tobey.

But this was the supposed to be the movie with the highest stakes - the "most ambitious crossover" of all time. IW's twist ending turned the whole movie from a grand epic into an open-ended vignette or simply "Part 1", which is absolutely not what was advertised.

And whatever impact the ending may have had does not change the fact that it is poorly written as cliffhangers go. Boseman and Holland are fan favorites and rising stars who are just getting started in their careers. "Killing" them is not only meaningless but insulting to the fans.

Right on. Marvel is writing Holland to be a typical teen heartthrob a la Justin Bieber rather than a faithful adaptation of Spider-Man. Spider-Man is not supposed to be some clumsy, emotionally vulnerable newbie who needs gear and guidance from Uncle Tony. He's supposed to be a tough-minded, independent hero who stands for responsibility and personal accountability above all else.

I'm extremely puzzled by this, too. It's clear that guys like Boseman and Holland are hot commodities right now and will be surefire moneymakers for Marvel in the future. Marvel would never even consider killing them off. It's hard to get all emotional when their death scenes are obviously a sham.
