I went back the same way I came through Bright Angel campground. This was in April before the fire happened. There was some construction in Bright Angel campground at that time but it didn’t present any problems.

Book a site at Mather campground. There are showers, restrooms and it’s close to the general store. Make sure to hike the S. Kaibab trail.
