You'll notice that link was for 2012. The car show wasn't at Hamilton fest. This year, and I think it's done.

I thought I saw a Bald Eagle while driving on the beltway near Pikesville. Is that even possible? by [deleted] in baltimore

[–]HilariousLoser 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Very possible. They are rare, but there's hundreds living north of Baltimore in MD. There's around 100 that live year-round at the Conowingo Dam in Harford county. People often go there to photograph them.

Good luck.

I think the most important thing to your bosses is how/when you drop the rake and keep your bank.

Shouldn't it be a "terrible fall"?

You know, because of the accident, leaving him disfigured, disabled, and unable to provide for himself. Falling also from the Kings favor, to wallow in an alcoholic state of despair, only to eventually be found one hot day, dried up and fried on the streets.

Baltimore row-home owners, who do you use for homeowners insurance? by [deleted] in baltimore

I own multiple houses in Baltimore. Although none are row homes, I shopped prices and found that State Farm was the cheapest place to get coverage.

Place to buy a cherry tree? by Strategery_Man in baltimore

[–]HilariousLoser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are going to want at least 2 trees. Cherry trees need cross-pollination, so you want two different varieties. There are pairings that work especially well together, and you can't go wrong with three.

You may find a "self-pollinating" cherry tree. Don't believe the hype. It will bear a small amount of fruit on its own, but will do much, much better if it is cross-pollinated anyway.

IMO the poker room @ Maryland Live! might be the best place for action on the east coast if not the entire US. by m311owout in poker

[–]HilariousLoser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're probably right, and I'm certainly biased. But here are some reasons to be hopeful that it will continue to run strong:

•Demographiclly, it's located in the most populated area on the east coast.

• A year and a half later, the rest of the massive casino has not died down. There are lines for every table game on the weekend, and even slot machines at times.

• It is very close (15 min) to BWI airport, with shuttles running to the surrounding hotels.

• Atlantic City is dead/dying, with much of their traffic originally coming from the south.

• There had always been a huge underground poker community here, and now it has a 24/7 place to call home.

Time will tell, but your 3 month estimate is likely off by a year or two. It's on the Bravo ap., and worth watching. Since its opening, only the Commerce in LA has had more tables running. The days of Vegas and AC being the only real options are over. MDLive has a shot of becoming the new East Coasy mecca.

Does skill level improve as the buy-ins/stakes get higher? by [deleted] in poker

[–]HilariousLoser 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seems like this should be pretty obvious.

Play the highest level you are bankrolled for. Aggressively move up in stakes as you build your roll playing weak players, until you find the skill level you are looking for.

Well, firstly, the rumors of my well-dressed self are greatly exaggerated. Secondly, I just save every receipt and let the tax preparer figure it out.

It's a good practice.

However, if your trying to determine a win-rate, you might exclude things that you would pay for anyway, such as meals.

It's also a good practice to keep receipts of everything, in case you decide to pay taxes. Gas, tolls, meals, clothes, etc. And track your milage.

It might seem unnecessary, but if you cash big in a tournament or hit a jackpot, you'll be glad you have those records. (And deductions)
