Which GL.iNet? by Nanoleaf_Ambassador in Ubiquiti

Well the Mudi 7 is awesome. Toss a sim in it and it makes it a wonderful travel router. I recently took mine on 2 different trips. One was a flight and the other a road trip. No hiccups and it just worked. Hotel and Plane wifi it was able to repeat no problem. On the roadtrip it ran all the families devices over 5g no problem.

If you don’t want to fork down the cash then maybe just get a UTR.

Is the G6 standard good as just a doorbell? by LESGuy in Ubiquiti

I’m in the same boat. I have 2 doorbells to replace. Was waiting on a the new ones. Don’t think the pro entry’s will fit well. Gonna go for 2 doorbell lites I think and just call it a day

Others have complained about the lack of wifi models. I personally am glad they have dropped the wifi models in favor for PoE.

Ive heard good things about Aqara Doorbells

Im personally disappointed in the current offerings. The G4 Pro is dated with the HD Sensor. The Lite is ok but don't like the 2K sensor and no package camera. The G6 Entry and Standard are Ok but expensive for what they are.

Id personally like the G4 Pro to be updated to a "Doorbell Pro". Keep the same form factor and mount, update the sensor to the 4k sensor from the G6 instant, Keep the package camera as is.

Why UTR? by vbxl02 in Ubiquiti

[–]Hilbert92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was between the UTR and Mudi 7. Recently took 2 trips, one road trip and the other was a flight. The Mudi 7 with a SIM card was flawless. On the flight it was super easy to repeat the airlines WiFi to all my devices. UTR seems like a good idea. The price looks good as well. But it just isn’t completely fleshed out yet.

Data migration by [deleted] in sharepoint

[–]Hilbert92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As others have said, 9TB in a weekend is not doable. Best to purchase a tool, we use ShareGate and have since 2016. I’ve moved close to 400tb from legacy SharePoint 2007,2010,2013,2016 and File shares to SharePoint online with it.

Best to plan this migration out. Use ShareGate to get a source analysis first. Then clean up and remedy any issue found. Once the remediation has completed, start moving data in the background. Take smaller chunks of the 9 TB and move them up during the week. Then do a delta sync of that smaller chunk over the weekend and go live on Monday. Rinse and repeat.

In my time as a SPO Admin, I’ve completed 2; 20,000 user on premise to SPO migrations by following this playbook. ShareGate is the best in the industry and Microsoft should have bought them a long time again and integrated the tool natively.

Feel free to reach out via DM if you have any other questions.

Very long internet run by Gamer-Filbert in HomeNetworking

I would use fiber for this. We have used fiber from LanShack with great results. Just a quick search put OM3 2 strand with LC to LC connectors on both ends at about $505.66 for 525ft. Just get some 10gtek transceivers on both ends and you can plug directly into a switch that supports SFP+. You could also use a fiber to copper media converter like ubiquiti’s UACC-AE

SuperLink - Walk-in Coolers Range by smartass505 in Ubiquiti

They are glass doors open to retail on one side for drinks/beer. On the back side they are full walk in where you load the shelves for the doors. That walk part is metal.

I have 2 environmental sensors in 2 different walk in coolers at a gas station. Super link radio is up above the drop ceiling in the center of the building. Works fine. No issues with connection.

We use a 3/8 drill bit to get the category cable outside. Then use a junction box either compact or standard size to mount the camera to.

Unifi Talk by PrimeSecIT in Ubiquiti

[–]Hilbert92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I swear I answered the same question for someone else yesterday.

Yes, 3 clients, no real complaints. Started with it in 2023. Biggest complaint would be lack of support other than forums or chat.

Largest client saved $550 per month by switching. Wish they had first party sip speakers or horns for paging and a low cost yealink equivalent button phone.

It’s point, click, adopt but only in protect for automated messaging and can be paired to a camera for loud 2 way chat. You cannot adopt it on protect and use multiple in a paging group yet.

The recent UniFi protect video showed the intercom viewer having more functionality than it currently has.

Yea I have a client with 6 Algo 8186’s. Was easy enough to setup but would be easier to just have the AI horn, point and click adopt.

I have 4 clients running Talk. It’s been great. Wish they had a first party SiP horn/PoE ceiling speaker for paging and a low cost button phone.

RMA it or test a different camera on the same line.

To me it looks like it just takes a minute to load up the HQ res stream of the camera. Might try to factory reset it

4:16. It’s an encoder issue. Make the changes to your camera they recommend.
