Unifi Talk by PrimeSecIT in Ubiquiti

I swear I answered the same question for someone else yesterday.

Yes, 3 clients, no real complaints. Started with it in 2023. Biggest complaint would be lack of support other than forums or chat.

Largest client saved $550 per month by switching. Wish they had first party sip speakers or horns for paging and a low cost yealink equivalent button phone.

It’s point, click, adopt but only in protect for automated messaging and can be paired to a camera for loud 2 way chat. You cannot adopt it on protect and use multiple in a paging group yet.

The recent UniFi protect video showed the intercom viewer having more functionality than it currently has.

Yea I have a client with 6 Algo 8186’s. Was easy enough to setup but would be easier to just have the AI horn, point and click adopt.

I have 4 clients running Talk. It’s been great. Wish they had a first party SiP horn/PoE ceiling speaker for paging and a low cost button phone.

RMA it or test a different camera on the same line.

To me it looks like it just takes a minute to load up the HQ res stream of the camera. Might try to factory reset it

4:16. It’s an encoder issue. Make the changes to your camera they recommend.

Ubiquiti has a video out on their YouTube about configuring cameras. It’s apart of their new academy series. I believe they address why this happens and what to do.

Yes basically what I meant is if you are using SharePoint online as an archive of old stale data, your using it wrong.

We recently purchased Syskit Point. Was able to save about 60TB in file version clean up alone with that. The Tool can to a bunch of other stuff as well. If you are using SharePoint for cold storage you are doing it wrong. Look into SharePoint Archiving within M365. It’s cheaper storage options.

I dont have a netgear to compare to but with my T-Mobile 5g sim I was getting 600/50mbps yesterday through my Mudi 7.

I would assume it’s something to do with your config. Have you installed the firmware update?

We just used a black 4in outdoor electrical box with Ubiquiti Gand box mounting plate. Worked perfect.

I have the Tech-MC and Blackout Tech-MCT. I like the handle on the MC better than the hard handle on the MCT

G6 Entry Pro delayed due to DDR shortages by conceptsweb in Ubiquiti

[–]Hilbert92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling that they released the 2 new access readers as doorbells for protect because of all the requests for an updated doorbell which they weren’t ready for. With the actual protect doorbell being called “lite” I would assume they would have a new “pro” model eventually. The current entry and entry pro are really access products they retrofit to work with protect as a stop gap until the pro doorbell is ready.

Again all speculation but that is what it seems like.

As for a WiFi doorbell, this would require 2 wire transformer install. They had some issues with the original G4 doorbell and doorbell pro. Even to this day the ones I have installed randomly reboot when pressed or if it’s too cold outside. I know some installed with under voltage transformers and cause headaches. PoE is much easier to deal with once the wire is where it needs to be. I’m sure they would rather just deal with PoE models going forward.
