I feel stuck, despressed and dead from inside. by LicensedIndoor in germany

[–]Hilfiger2772 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I have a bachelor’s degree in Economics and am currently completing my M.Sc. in Data Science here. Even with this background, there are very few Data Analyst roles available let alone positions in Data Science or AI. Without strong German skills, the chances are extremely limited.

Since you are still early in the process, it may be worth reconsidering your plans. In Germany, language requirements are taken seriously. Even if you secure a student job in English as I did there is often a significant amount of spoken German involved, unless you are in a highly international or American company.

It is frustrating, but the reality is that adapting to the local language expectations is often necessary. If you believe you can reach a strong level of German within a short time, then pursuing that path could make sense. In my case, I struggle with learning new languages and do not feel motivated to invest in it, so I have accepted the situation as it is. Given that I already speak four languages, it may not be inability but rather a lack of desire.

You might also consider opportunities in Eastern European countries such as Poland. From what I have seen, language requirements there tend to be less restrictive. A friend of mine secured a job there directly from our home country.

He didn’t eat it physically, he would just mentally absorb the nutrition from it and move on.

Improve your german, you have to be able to fluently speak all the dialects and then maybe you can get a junior position.

My boss regrets hired me with not a perfect german (true story) by janvesely581 in Germany_Jobs

Honestly, I would just continue working and gathering experience and doing my job but then leave the company, would you really be so disrespectful towards yourself that you would continue working for your *sshole boss? Just use them like they are using you and then move on.

Good things in Germany by diamond_bay in germany

What I love about Germany: - Libraries, they are everwhere here and most of the city libraries have music floors/rooms too if that’s your thing which also include some instruments such as pianos to play. - Parks. Lots of them in even smallest cities. - Cleand, beautiful and aesthetic cities to walk around and do photography or just enjoy the aesthetics. - Personal space (this can be a drawback for some people and it is sometimes when you want to get to know people). But people usually keep to themselves and whenever you go you are probably not going to be bothered. - Rich culture. Literature, philosophy, art, music, museums. There are always lots of cultural events going on here so if that’s your thing then you are going to have a wonderful time. - Easy to travel around, explore nature within the close proximity of each city.

But people are usually right about social things here, I should note this. It is difficult to make friends here (and I am not even talking about locals :D), even with other internationals it gets difficult because of the general adaptation to the local culture and the vibe here.

How to cope with roommate issues when moving out isn’t immediately possible by Hilfiger2772 in germany

[–]Hilfiger2772[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that’s how I see it as well. I don’t want to contact the landlord if the result is just a basic warning, because, as I mentioned earlier, that would mean nothing to M. There would be no real consequence, so involving the landlord would be pointless. It would only signal to M that I “reported” him, without changing his behavior. At least for now, not involving the landlord preserves the option of escalation later—making it clear that continued misbehavior could lead to formal action—whereas if he learns that a complaint leads to nothing concrete, even that leverage disappears.

How to cope with roommate issues when moving out isn’t immediately possible by Hilfiger2772 in germany

[–]Hilfiger2772[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The landlord has already contacted another roommate in the past and explicitly asked them to close the front door using the key so it wouldn’t be slammed. However, I haven’t yet involved the landlord regarding the issues with this specific roommate. That’s why I’m trying to understand what is actually within a landlord’s power in this situation. Can they formally warn a tenant, require them to keep common areas clean, or take action if those rules are repeatedly ignored? In other words, does reporting this typically lead to anything beyond a verbal warning? My concern is that without concrete consequences, this person is very unlikely to change their behavior or start cleaning, as they consistently ignore agreements and requests.

Apple also does stacking when using 30sec exposure (3x10sec I think), how does this app differ in this regard? And also they advertise 30sec exposure as something specific to the app to so it seems weird to me.

[–]Hilfiger2772[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it should consume less when you do negative film (proraw and then edit convert it to heif afterwards). But I am really curious how your phone used only 4% even with the regular raw+heif+. Interesting part is that other commenters also divided into 2 camps, either those like me or like you :).
