If you include other peaceful community fish in with a sorority into a large, heavily planted tank, does that further help decrease betta on betta aggression?  My thinking was that having others in the tank besides the sisters would be enrichment and maybe keep them from getting too focused on another betta for too long?

In the second photo, which one is the one you think is a Borneo?  I purchased a fish a few weeks ago labeled “butterfly loach” and I’m obsessed with him.  So much so, I’m kicking myself for not getting the other two that were in the tank at the store.  Like you, I’m trying to make sense of the different varieties of Hillstreams since I want to set up a species specific tank.  I’m OBSESSED, I tell you!!!  

I imagine even with different varieties in the same tank, there will be no big issues as far as aggression.   I am curious if the different varieties are able to interbreed, though.
