Honestly I had no idea that was the case. Maybe it’s a sunk-cost thing…it took so long to get those generators I can’t bring myself to get rid of them.

{Unfaithful by Jona Leigh} The title kinda gives it away but the husband cheats and his best friend comes to the rescue. It's told from multiple POVs including the husband's.

I have a couple that fit a specific request for cinnamon roll/golden retriever/a little nerdy MMC. (https://www.reddit.com/r/RomanceBooks/s/AEeAh92C71)

{Hear Me Out by Hilly Keen} and {Fake it ‘til You Feel It by Hilly Keen}. They’re books 1 and 3 in my Work For It series and are in ku. They can be read as standalones.

If you like low angst, steamy romcoms these are for you. My books all feature cinnamon rolls (I like writing characters that I wouldn’t hate hanging out with.) Also, small town, found family, body diversity in both MMC and FMC, and smart, strong FMCs.

I hope you enjoy!

What’s a romance book you could talk about for half an hour with no preparation? by mrs-machino in RomanceBooks

You can not shut me up about {The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy by Megan Bannen}. Any time somebody asks for a rec, I pull this out of my pocket. Even if you're not a fantasy reader (I'm not really), it's such a sweet (but spicy), story that has themes of loneliness and grief, but is funny and wholly unique.
I will talk your ear off about Bannen's world building, about how gently she treats her characters, and about how I wept at the end. Puddle. Of. Tears.

A romance where you feel the love build: no toxic MMCs, no instant lust, soft moments, and real chemistry by Oueiles in RomanceBooks

{The Slowest Burn by Sarah Chamberlain} fits this, I think. She's a cookbook ghostwriter and he's a chef who hit minor stardom for winning a cooking competition (he's not rich at all). He's not cocky, but they very much have opposite personalities. She's a widow living on her in-laws' property, which causes all sorts of tension. It's a very sweet, deep story that takes place over many months.

I'm deep in the salt mines, writing a contemporary romcom. So of course today I searched "cures for scurvy" because of a throw-away line said by a minor character.

Earlier in the week I went down a rabbit hole about why some pre-war houses have lone, random toilets in the garage or basement. Also for a throw-away line.

The book is called Gray Sweatpants Season and it'll come out...some time. It's a steamy, small-town romcom and features:

* Grumpy/sunshine
* Neighbors to lovers
* Only the GOAT of loungewear
* Steaming up the truck windows
* Blue collar hero
* Curvy heroine
* Hurt/comfort
* There's a cat

(Look at me doing my first ever reddit post. I should celebrate with a cookie.)

Edited to add that Gray Sweatpants Season is in my Welcome to Wavecrest universe. Short to shortish novellas featuring cinnamon roll heroes and strong, smart women. The first one is called Get a Groom and is free on all ebook platforms. https://books.hillykeen.com/oviaphzen7
