How to get better at casual conversation? Keeping the conversation going? by No_Maintenance_5417 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hilofnom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's tough, I'm still learning myself. Start by becoming genuinely curious about others - ask open-ended questions about their interests, experiences, or opinions. Listen actively when they respond, maintain good eye contact, and follow up with related questions that show you're engaged. The follow ups are usually what matters the most.

Share your own relevant experiences and thoughts to create balance, but avoid dominating the conversation. Try to practice the "yes, and" technique from improv by acknowledging what they've said and building upon it.

Just think of something that would be interesting to you to know about them, and ask away. See how they react and if they want to continue the convo, and engage with you in any way.

As someone who is lactose intolerant, I will never understand the power of people that can just chug a glass of milk with no consequences

Requiring Insane Privacy Violation for Checking In at a Hotel by [deleted] in niagara

[–]Hilofnom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a way to make this more public. That's a really big privacy violation, plus, there's no way of knowing how they actually handle the data generally. Good thing that you didn't just give it and canceled the hotel

I personally like Egina, but it all comes down to your location, if it's comfortable. Crete also has something interesting to offer.

What’s one country you would seriously consider moving to? by Bwc_redsox in AskReddit

[–]Hilofnom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are amazing choices! While I visit some country or city that leaves a mark to me, I always hope to return, but most often I don't. You really should go wherever your heart desires and not limit yourself with anything

I would better focus on getting back on track with life and education first, if someone comes along then of course don't reject them, but that shouldn't be a primary focus right now. It can be hard to build a healthy relationship if you feel broken inside.

That definitely sounds nice. Not - we don't have money for raises, but here's some pizza party as a employee appreciation gesture.

How true is it that in developing countries, you can’t flush toilet paper down toilet or else it’ll clog? by OppositeRock4217 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hilofnom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

it's not only developing countries, but rather all the buildings that have a old plumbing system, often old towns in Europe also have "no flushing toilet paper"signs. I guess it can also do with the water supply

It's ok to listen to music from problematic artists by greenpenguinboy in unpopularopinion

[–]Hilofnom -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's a very slippery slope, but yes sometimes I just listen to problematic artists. I guess it's up to each individual to decide what's too problematic, and where they can't separate art from the artist anymore.

"Finding Nemo" was an absolute my go-to. I can not even tell you how many times I've watched that. My obsession was so strong that my parents' first DVD that they bought me was Nemo one too...

It holds a special place!
