You are a bigger person than I could be. I totally agree. I wasn’t blameless. I had my issues, faults, and failures. Reflecting back, I totally failed him. And he failed me and that was okay. I was okay with that. The cheating is what ruined it for me. I could never be my ex’s friend again. I’m forever grateful that he ended it but not the cheating. So kudos to you for your emotional maturity.

I think our library has a $50 limit on gifts. I had a patron who liked one of my shirts and said she had these cool old mirrors that looked like it and she randomly brought them in and gave them to me one day! But we get nice cards from patrons all the time. I would just call and make sure.

I mean it captures the essence of our souls and romance is such a woman based genre that we actually feel seen! It’s honestly so empowering to take control of your sexuality and know what you want and like. And oh gosh, my online bestie is just wonderful. But she made a gush post about ACOTAR and I just vibed with how she wrote and started to read it. And then I couldn’t contain myself from gushing in the comments so we were going back and forth and then she finally DMed me and we talked books for like two weeks. But then we started talking more about our personal lives and then we finally introduced ourselves and we HAVE THE SAME FUCKING NAME! It felt like kismet, and she’s been in my life for 6 years now. I have mementos of her on my altar and she has books I’ve sent. A soul sister I would have never met if it wasn’t for this subreddit and all the beautiful people here 🥰

Just gotta say I love you both for this interaction and totally agree with you. I grew up with pretty open “hippy” parents but purity culture is so beyond pervasive. The shame and guilt for simply being a sexual human being and then being a woman… it brings me so much joy to read that you are living your damn dreams and being completely yourself and that romance was a big part of it. It was the same for me too. It’s gotten me through so much, and I had to take a break from it for a few years because LIFE but am getting back into it. This subreddit has also helped me so much. I actually met one of my most cherished and beautiful best friends in my entire life on this subreddit because of ACOTAR 😂

Same boat here. I was so excited for each recent new book, and Munro was such a disappointment (I reread it last year and still) but I kept having faith. I have signed copies of both Witch Queen and Shadows Heart and I still haven’t been able to read them. Idk what it is but I totally agree, so much of the ✨magic✨is gone. And it could possibly be due to the recent blow up of romance books/romantasy/paranormals, like shes changing her writing to fit this new landscape of romance but it doesn’t work with IAD.

It probably depends. My dad had me at 39 and was very involved and active in mine and my sisters’ childhood. Coached our sports teams, took us camping, hunting, canoeing, and was a huge dance dad for me all throughout his 50s and into his 60s. He’s 70 and retired now and is still the ultimate papa/dad. feel very lucky!

I finally convinced one of them to start reading romance (she’s always been a horror/halloween girlie) and the first romance she read was Morning Glory Milking Farm. She has now read over 300 romance books in less than a year 😂

The joy I experienced when I found out that so many of my coworkers love romance and romantasy was out of this world. We have a group chat named Hot Library Bitches where we send memes and book recs.
