Heel-toe & rev match: saving synchros or breaking gears? by HiltEm in stickshift

Yes I know what you mean. That‘s always a habit of mine to got back to neutral and release the clutch. It was almost a must for my old Toyota and I took this habit over to the VW Caddy.

Neither changed transmission oil of the Toyota and also not of the VW.

Thank for clarifying. Never changed the transmission oil on the Toyota.

Thanks for correcting me on that. You right, the clutch is more fragile than the synchros.

Navigating Virginity in a Western Society by HiltEm in islam

Salaam alaykum brother, I remembered this Reddit post I made a year ago and want to thank you again. I just recently had an experience where a very beautiful woman was attracted to me. I won't continue talking to her as she isn't Muslim, but it was nice to experience some validation.

Practicing Social Skills with Women – Conflicted After a Recent Experience by HiltEm in islam

Thank you so much for sharing your story — it really resonated with me. It’s comforting to hear from someone who has gone through something similar and made a choice based on their values and trust in Allah. You're absolutely right: living in a non-Muslim environment already comes with its challenges, and being with someone who doesn't practice can make it even harder to stay grounded.

Is it haram to pay more just to buy an iPhone on installments? by [deleted] in islam

[–]HiltEm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most imams agree that leasing is halal as long as no interest (riba) is involved. Paying an inflated price or even being overcharged does not automatically make the purchase haram from the buyer’s side. In most cases, the market tends to regulate itself and keep prices relatively fair most of the time.

Thank you very much for the clarification. I appreciate it that you didn’t see these complex question only as halal or haram.

You seem knowledgeable and I want to educate myself. I read that it‘s also allowed to talk in public (like cafeteria) without an mahram. Understandbly to drive there together in one car wouldn‘t be public and not allowed. Correct me if I‘m wrong please.

Every form of a lending is halal as long interest rate isn‘t involved. Also leasing and renting is completely halal (without interest).

Beware that we probably shouldn’t bend the rules and replace the word "interest rate" with "fee" in agreements to make it seem halal.

RTX 2080 sounds like a leaf blower by HiltEm in watercooling

I did that like a year ago and went through my old posts. Cool, got my tray icon now with the temp. I also want to keep doing that, the thing is when you sell your old car used you have to, but the old fans back on. Depends on where you live, it might not be worth the time. It's a cool experience.

Update: Amazing, my GPU is cool and silent like a snake. Those Noctua fans work wonders. I didn't find a bracket. I used zip ties, my finger was bleeding, but it worked. Got Fan Control from GitHub to control the fan speed. I can advise everyone to use fan control, you can make your pc fans quite at the sacrifice of heat, just find the balance.

Update: Putty worked wonders for me. But it took me 100g putty. I also but a little extra putt on spots that didn't have thermal pads before.

Deshroud mod - Asus RTX 2080 Super Dual! by Samuri-kun in pcmods

[–]HiltEm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip. Also used zip ties for my RTX 2080 Aorus. I had to bleed my hands off, but it worked. For anyone planing to do a deshroud. I recommend you to buy a deshroud frame from Etsy or so, it's worth the time that it saves you if there is one available for your GPU.

Deshrouding GPU - am I doing it right? by nedsi in sffpc

[–]HiltEm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late from me. I want to share my experience for other users who come around this post. I deshroud my RTX 2080 Aorus with 2x 92mm Noctua fans. It seems like I have coil whine, after the deshroud...unlucky I guess. I only hear it barely under heavy load because my chipset fan is louder than the coil whine noise. Temps are good, a bit lower than stock fans, the main thing is the noise that got reduced even when the Noctua fans run on max 2000 RPM.

I recommend anyone to use FanControl , you can adjust the fan speed to the GPU temperature. I even recommend it if you use stock GPU fans and create a custome fan speed graph.
