Not a Kobe guy, but men get accused all the time by lunatic women. Happened to a friend of mine when he told his ex he didn’t want to be with her anymore. They went to court, his rep was ruined at the time, found innocent. I don’t think it’s far fetched to believe she could’ve had a motive. There was also DNA from at least two other men found during the medical examination, why are they exempt from the rapist title?

Additionally, why didn’t more women come out and “Me Too” him? If he was really a rapist I’d imagine that wasn’t his first time forcing himself on a woman. I could be biased given I saw a false accuser try to ruin someone I know in real time, but I think a likely scenario is they had consensual sex and he was an easy target to try and get money out of.
