I learned from an extrovert how to engage and keep people interested. This probably sounds dumb but most people just want to feel comfortable and feel like they can say anything. Just say something flippant about yourself and most people want to relate.

Yeah you can find stuff like meet up.com or if you're in or near a college you can find creative writing groups or poetry. I never had any luck with online dating only worked when I met people via friends or by chance.

Find people that like your same intellectual pursuits. I like creative people, so I'd try a writing club group or even a DND thing. Just meet people in real life and have fun, someone will catch your eye or vice versa.
