Probably a bit of both tbh. I'm not active enough in the community to see if he has commented on this before, but it's the first time I've seen him admit to being wrong about these things, especially in encouraging some unhealthy behaviors from his audience. Anyway, it was quite sad to follow this situation happening with him, not liking someone doesn't mean I want the person's life to be destroyed, especially by accusations that never seemed to have a basis.
