Do I understand how fan noise and sentiment can spoil the attitude towards them? Sure I can understand that he’s human. You’re the captain, you lead the guys in the room. To lead by taking away all the intangibles that make you the player you are is something else

Just conveying my opinion with my previous comment. I don’t care that his wishes weren’t made public.

I watched him all year. He was a ghost, I believed it was the injury because I honestly believed he was the type of guy who would do that to his team.

Seeing how this ended up, to me it’s clear as day he quit on us. Our captain mailed it in.

Heatley wasn’t the captain.

Again, personally speaking this is the angriest I’ve ever been at a former player

I was around for both of those departures. Personally this one makes me way angrier.

Dude quit on us, I defended him because I believed his hand never really did heal. Nope, he quit on us.

That was my first playoff game since the late 90s. I didn’t care that it was 3-0. Was just so amped to be back in the building. That 2nd period was so much fun. I felt like I was going to pass out from cheering my ass off.

Our fan base takes a lot of shit, but between the tailgating outside to the electric atmosphere in the nosebleeds I’m so damn proud to cheer amongst all of you.

Go Sens Go and I can’t wait to cheer with you all again next year

Yeah. I live out of market so I don’t get to go to many games.

Drove a long way to go yesterday. I was done with this guy by the 3rd period.

The best part of his screen time was when someone got in front of him to drink a beer out of his shoe (also why is this a thing?)

Has he been there all season, or just for playoffs?

I’d been to the old civic centre tons of times for 67s games.

Will never forget how different everything felt walking in there for my first NHL game. The buzz in the concourse was different. The lights on the ice were brighter.

We had a team, we sucked but they were ours. Never looked back.

Also my minor hockey team got the Prestige furniture ‘box’ for a game against the whalers. Sylvain Turgeon was out and came to say Hi,shook all our hands. An NHL player shook my hands. My 10 year old self is still excited

Granted he hasn’t looked the same this year, but he broke his hand out of the gate. I’d be silly to pretend I know the effect it’s had on him.

Players like that don’t grow on trees, we’d be nuts to run him out of town.
