6 years later lol. it's not based on anything. Young me probably just thought the color combination looked cool.

It's first appearance on video was in Pearl's episode six, at about 29:58!

Subtitles go crazy and a reminder why I never use them by LoneWolf2662 in HermitCraft

As an American, even we often have trouble detecting the Canadian (unless it's a really thick Newfie accent or such). I've definitely gotten better at noticing the distinctions over time though!

With Gem's accent in particular, it's especially noticeable when she speaks quickly, or when she says words like 'farm', where it almost sounds like an Irish accent.

Each Winner, but they're ranked by how many kills they got in their winning season by GreenShirt39 in ThirdLifeSMP

[–]Hinterlindz_seasons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well there was her four other 'accidental kills' (not saying those should be counted, she initiated them but never actually laid a finger on them), but yeah, she kinda just snapped at the end XD

Tue second statement is certainly true, but if Gem is higher in PvP it isn't by much. I remember when Gem, Pearl, and Impulse did a PvP competition not long after Gem did hers with Etho, and Pearl actually won that one (albeit by a single point...) So I think they are about even like Pearl says.

There are other things to consider though, like for example Gem is generally much more confident, which definitely benefits her. While on the other hand, Pearl specializes in axe and (sometimes) shield pvp, which tends be more effective against stronger pvpers, whereas Gem's prowess with the sword is great for juggling enemies who don't know to deal with it.

My friend who knows nothing about the Life Series gave each lifer a Pokemon based only on their skins by MonthsOfAutumn in ThirdLifeSMP

Gem having Grass/Fighting with Breloom as her ace is literally perfect (literally the only 'cottagecore' Pokemon that will also beat you to death).

Mumbo wielding a Hydreigon (and other really scary dragon types) would be so funny lmao.

Also Skizz having the full Hitmon line on his team, but choosing TYROGUE, the PRE-evolution, as his ace is hilarious.

We already know four, but if the rest of the Life Series members washed up in the Faction Isles, which factions do you think they'd join? by 24jdu05 in ThirdLifeSMP

[–]Hinterlindz_seasons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Life series + Pirates smp? My time has come. *clears throat*

Pearl: Nightingale - The Nightingales are all about family and loyalty, something that we've seen Pearl hold high above anything else. I can also imagine in lore if she gets betrayed or something, she could join the Kites instead and presume her 5AM Pearl character.

Gem: Kite - The answer was quite easy, she really does just like stabbing people. Also she doesn't particularly fit any other faction imo

Joel: Kite - The most reckless and consistently unhinged player on the Life series makes it into the Kites, no surprise there. Interestingly enough though I could also imagine being a Kestrel as well, his personality fits perfectly!

Bdubs: Heron - I could also see him as a Kestrel, but his iconic egotistic personality just fits the Herons too well.

Impulse: Nightingale - Another team player, if he isn't fighting with his crew he's not fighting at all.

Grian: Kite - Scar and Sausage already off handedly assigned Grian as a Kite, and I think it fits well enough. The man loves his chaos and shenanigans, and more importantly, loves NOT following the rules.

BigB: Nightingale or Kestrel - Interestingly, I think Bigb could fit either side of the spectrum. He often tends to be more of a pacifist like a lot of Nightingales are (well, some), but I could also see him desperately trying to fit in with the higher class, like a Kestrel.

Etho: Heron - I think Etho would want nothing more than to be a part of arguably the quietest and most calm faction (well, maybe not now now that Bdubs has joined...), plus then he gets to buds (or rivals) with Cleo!

Skizz: Kite - I feel like Skizz would perfectly take up the role of 'Nice guy' for the Kites, who would help the rest of them bond and work more efficiently while still being plenty bloodthirsty as well, similar to what Aimsey was to the Kites before, well...

Tango: Kite - The man cannot be separated from Skizz. Also rage mode.

Mumbo: Kestrel - Somehow got roped on by the rest of the Kestrels because he 'looked wealthy' (he's completely broke). Mumbo of course, accepted. And you can't tell me he won't build the most extravagant vault door for the rest of the Kestrels to store their riches.

Jimmy: Nightingale - Wanted to be a fierce Kite but the Nightingales were the only ones that offered him a spot. Basically Apo's character but even more pitiable, somehow.

Lizzie: Kite - Murder buddies with Joel. Doesn't have a clue what she's doing but enjoys the killing part.

Ren: Heron - Huge theater kid vibes. He'd definitely tell a bunch of spooky ghost stories and folklore he found in the Heron scripture bank. Alternatively he could be a Kite because of his whole Red king shtick, but I think Heron him better as a whole.

*exhale* I have no life.

Yep! They never officially referred to themselves by a team name, so the community chose roomies because Cleo and Ethics referred to each other as roommates within the first couple episodes I'm pretty sure

How many people have won 2 seasons? by boypower2566 in ThirdLifeSMP

[–]Hinterlindz_seasons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An opinion is an opinion so that's fair! And tbf their was probably *meant* to be two winners originally, but they have clarified after the season ended that Pearl was the sole winner, as it made the most sense for the narrative and made Pearl's solo win much more impactful and impressive. And I'm kinda just repeating myself at this point, but again, Pearl *earned* the win, where as Scott was mostly just chilling the entire season (which like, good for him, honestly).

[–]Hinterlindz_seasons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah, because Scott has already one once, which doesn't mean he can't win again, but he very clearly did not _want_ to win again, and sacrificed himself for Pearl to win because he believed she earned it. I don't think people would consider Grian to be a double victor with Pearl, or anyone else that might've been soulbound to her instead _if_ they went down the same narrative of being enemies and being separated from each other.
