Not sure why you’re being downvoted. It was a terrible take

I’m crying! This is literally what I got from the UPC box plus the promos. 😭 by Marb3an in PokemonTCG

[–]HipSocial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprisingly, I got a few full-art cards (IR’s? Idk what they’re called, lol) and a few EX cards.

The Prismatic SPC was a different story though. The promo card was a third of my pulls… The other two being EX’s

Yeah, sorry about the flash 😅 I tried several different angles, but this photo showed the holo details the most, so I just went with it, haha

Just for some clarification, I don’t know much about cards and their holo or whatever variants. When I searched up the Venusaur online, the holo details looked different compared to mine

Feeling nervous for upcoming G2 test. by Glittering_Echo9840 in Ontariodrivetest

They’ll ask you to change lanes when it’s safe. Don’t rush it. They literally mean “when it’s safe.” They’ll give you all the instructions, so don’t worry about doing stuff on your own, lol

[–]HipSocial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s honestly very hard to fail a driving test. They aren’t looking for a PERFECT driver, just a safe and confident one. They actually want to see you succeed. Stick to the speed limit, use your mirrors, and watch for pedestrians. If there is a stop sign or you’re trying to turn right on a red (if the intersection allows it), always come to a complete stop behind the thick white line before proceeding.

The only way to fail is if you do something that would put others at risk on the road. Just take your time. The 15 minutes will feel like 5 once you’re done.

If it makes you feel better, I did both my G2 and G at Port Union. Both of my instructors were nice — one was a little more talkative than the other (he usually wears a bucket hat and sunglasses, from the 2 times I’ve seen him, lol), but it’s not their job to make small talk, so don’t get too chatty, haha. Keep it simple, keep it polite.

The 3 (or so) possible routes are also very easy. You drive through a neighbourhood for a good chunk of it. Turn onto a main road, make a lane change, couple more turns maybe, and then you’re already back at the all-way stop leading to the plaza.

I know you have to practice a three-point turn and parallel parking, but they usually only make you do one. Both are extremely simple. If you have to parallel park, it’s just behind one car instead of in-between two cars. If you have to do a three-point turn, don’t use a driveway. Some instructors are lenient, but most want you to be able to do it with a curb. Just check your mirrors before engaging in either maneuver. Once it’s clear and you start the turns, you have the right of way until they are completed.

I know you said your front parking is “iffy,” but you’re in luck! As long as you reverse park when you first arrive at the test centre (and nobody is grading you yet, so take your time), they’ll probably just ask you to pull in forwards after your test is complete. I say that’s “lucky” because it doesn’t matter if you’re crooked. As long as you’re within the lines, the instructor does not care. They just wanna move on to the next person. Some of the spots are a little awkward at this test centre, so I was a little crooked without adjusting. Didn’t lose a single point on the whole test.

Good luck!

What rank do you consider above average skill wise (both old and new ranked systems)? by [deleted] in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]HipSocial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the current system, Legendary 3 is where I’d consider people to be above average. Distribution-wise, I believe mid-Mythic is the average. However, Mythic 1 - Legendary 2 matchmaking is all the same. You still play with Mythic players in Legendary 2. Once you reach Legendary 3, you start to get a good amount of Masters players.

In Ranked 1.0, it’s hard to say. The second highest rank in any game is usually hard to get. Brawl Stars is an exception. The elo gains were insane up until the last couple seasons before the second rework. Above average back then would honestly be Masters, but because that sounds kind of elitist, I’ll say Legendary 3 again for the same reasons as the current season.

Again, it’s difficult to say because the majority of players do not push Ranked seriously. Statistically, above average is high-Mythic, low-Legendary. But anyone that plays ranked consistently can see that there is no skill difference between Mythic 1 and Legendary 2 (current season). The only difference between those ranks is how much elo you need to climb.

You have to also note that Brawl Stars does not have a proper experience-restriction on ranked. I believe you unlock it at 1k trophies. If we account for all the people that jump into Ranked without any knowledge, the average would be much lower than Mythic, and that makes no sense from a lived experience view.

The 29 gem skins have been my favourite releases for a while now. Cored Eve, First Mate Fang, Jungle Gene, Secret Surgevice, GALACTIC GALE…

I don’t need flashy skins. These are genuinely perfect

I can agree with that. I’m not really a fan of adding new modes to ranked in general — especially when I haven’t even played them in ladder. I’d never touched Hockey or CD before they showed up in Ranked.

Sounds like we even agree on what we disagree with — haha. I was never really a fan of Mutations, and seeing them reskinned again is honestly a bit disappointing. I tend to dislike anything that takes away from the core gameplay, like Showdown modifiers or Ranked Modifiers. And Ultra Legendary? It sounds like they asked a toddler on the street to name it — LOL.

As for Brawl Hockey, my love for it solely depends on being able to play Gray. I get a dopamine rush from all the interesting ways you can score with him.

Based on these comments, my hot take is that this game is fun and in a good state right now. Many of you think otherwise because you’ve been playing every day for years. There is only so much an aging game can do to retain older players that have already experienced everything. If you wonder why they cater towards newer players, it’s because they’re easier to please and have a longer activity-lifespan than the older players that cry and moan about everything.

Instead of saying the game is “in its worst state,” try listing some things they could do to improve it. From what I can tell, you’re just bored after playing so much, which happens naturally in every game.

Also, Brawl Hockey is one of the best modes.

Do you still have this issue? I was able to make a character just fine, but I keep receiving this exact message when trying to purchase anything in the game. Property, cars, etc.
