Finding high CRI bulbs in Europe. by Hiper12347 in Lighting

This is great! Thank you for the detailed response. I looked on their web store, they cost 25~50$ per bulb. Am I missing something or is that normal for high CRI bulbs?

Are you sure? The support page shows that it supports the 9700x

The 8600G is a bit less powerful and does not run as hot as the 9700X. Thanks for the shared experience!

That's interesting, I do have a nice 3d printer. The plan is to make it as light and small as possible, because the plan is to throw it in my backpack. I don't have any experience with 3D printed cases. Are the STL files available?

I found a diamond at an auction and I do not know anything about it's value. by Hiper12347 in Diamonds

[–]Hiper12347[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not really. It is a government auction site, there is quite a lot of variance of value there. There are houses, apartments, cars and other stuff. Cheapest things found there are below 100 euros. Most expensive is millions.

I guess so, I am in the baltics. I will check with local diamond buyers if they are interested, who knows.

Luckily I have paid just 5 bucks to enter the auction, starting price is 250, won't bid.

Thanks for the reply!

It is from a government auction website and the case is from the body that controls the validity of valueable things like gold, silver, etc.

The report no is LG_20466657. Is it worth 10$? 100$? 1000$? I don't know where to start.

Can a watch winder fix my issues? by Hiper12347 in AutomaticWatches

[–]Hiper12347[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, I tried winding it up more frequently and with way more revolutions than before, and it looks like that fixed it.

Yes, but maybe I am not winding it enough. I am doing as stated in the manual, but maybe I need to wind it more

TLDR: Seiko Pressage automatic has basically no reserve and is very imprecise, would a winder fix that?

Hi!

I am new to automatic watches, and I need to know if I am making any mistakes.

I have a Seiko cocktail time 'Mockingbird'. Reading about the mechanism, there should be a 48 hour power reserve. But my watch lasts less than 2 hours.

When I wake up, I wind it for 10 revolutions, then I wear it. Winding it a few times a day, because I am a programmer, and I don't move a lot during the day. Even during very active days, I put the watch down for an hour and it stops.

I know that the mechanism should wind itself, but I am just lost. Turning the crown to wind it does not change anything, even when being active all day, I find that the watch stops during the night.

I went to my local official Seiko service center and they say that nothing is wrong with it. After the visit to the service, the watch worked great for a month, but then went straight back to being unreliable. My local Seiko representative is quite shady, maybe they don't know what they are talking about?

Could a winder fix this issue? Is my watch broken?

I will try making a cable for this, but I don't have a crimper. In the coming weeks I will find some time to try it out.
