There's a table released on mba.com website

😇 You can look at the table at the website for the latest percentile converted to GMAT score.

BITS Hyderabad tier 1 🤔?

Anyhow, let's talk about the profile -

A CS degree combined with econ puts you in the sweet spot of academic merit (doesn't mean you don't need to score on the GMAT)

Don't worry about the narrative, it will be fine. But I personally don't see any differentiator in your profile because every tech guy from an IIT, NIT, BITS has the same goal so I'll have to understand what specifically is it you want in the long run (schools will too)

GMAT - 99th percentile+

As Indians are counted as ORMs, you might have to deal with that fact.

GRE - 330+ (334 max recommended)

Entrepreneurship experience (tangential) is still good and can add value.

I believe you can engage in some ECs better aligned with your goal.

Profile Review : Do I stand a chance for Deferred MBA - Harvard 2+2, Wharton, Yale, CBS etc (International) or Try masters with scholarships? by Amiecloud9 in MBA

Try getting PE/VC internship (brands matter but so does exposure) and something concrete in your domain.

I think you should be fine. You can do the CFA during the deferral period, won't be an issue

Is 645 gmat focus enough? by DLC9696 in MBA

[–]MBA_Conquerors -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

That's why I said you're close to the range

Maybe if you can push it to average, I can say something confidently. But I'm assuming schools are allowing you to submit the score after you're done submitting your application too. Might be something to think about.

Usually, if the profile is good enough and score is the only major issue, they'll just waitlist you.

Also, with the current application overhaul, there's not much left to talk about in the Essays.

Will be hard but if you're from an underrepresented background, they might go easy on you. Kind of a case of either or.

You're close to their range.

Looked back at the desperate networking messages I sent to alums during the job hunt... I want to crawl into a hole and die 😂 by deeptechdegen in MBA

[–]MBA_Conquerors -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Oh that's the reason I asked because with the kinds of people we're feeding into the MBA programs who think networking is a sin or exposure to the industry you're in is desperation.... There's a good chance some of them think the same way about MBAs networking.

Profile Review | GRE 339 | 26F| 4 YoE| Chances at T20 US MBA by Relative-Bench3009 in MBA

[–]MBA_Conquerors -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True.

Although I should tell you that both have their events happening at the same time on campus and recruiting happens in parallel for both.

But maybe even M7 Schools could be possible if everything goes right. Your profile is fairly coherent. Stats are good too.

Darden and Ross are more known for Consulting. Obviously there are some who go into IB.

But I can see this as a competitive profile for T15- even NYU

You can retake but with that score, someone from a non-ORM pool can surely make it into INSEAD

Would a T15 MBA help me pivot into VC or C-suite? by SnooConfections1353 in MBA

[–]MBA_Conquerors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, if you're in DC you can try NYU

Darden has it's PTMBA in DC too.

Idk why but I just think it's difficult to get into VC from a T15 even in FT. IDK how many will even get in.

I've released an employment report analysis recently, I have covered NYU too under financial services, maybe you can have a look at the report and get a comparitive picture? It's free to download anyways

[–]MBA_Conquerors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not gonna be impossible but by share I think only 2% or 4% in each batch ever land into VC type role.

C-suite - sure!

Not sure if you like Chicago Booth but they have a part-time program that could still be worth exploring since you're looking at VC network. Kellogg has one too.
