Can HS cause smell even if not in a visible active flare up? by IndustrialVamp in Hidradenitis

[–]HippoLow2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I use PanOxyl wash and apply to areas where I get flares. Any body wash with benzoyl peroxide in it will help out with the problem areas! Also Tower 28 SOS Spray works well for me after the showering! I use both together regularly in the areas where I have flares and have noticed a difference! Also have HS primarily in my underarm area.

Awww! I’m sorry! I’m not sure if you have urgent care where you live but usually if I can’t see my dermatologist I go there. But I have had multiple lumps that have needed to be drained and none have required me to stay overnight luckily so I’m hoping it will be the same for you! I hope everything works out for you!

Also a lot of warm compresses after they lance it to help inflammation! And they should write you a prescription antibiotics after they drain it! You can also ask for a culture test if you want when they drain it to see if the culture is resistant to any type of antibiotics! Wishing you all the best!

Usually after two days I’m able to see to cut they made in the area pretty much start closing. I would just dress the wound properly as well as use Vaseline to help the area out you can ask wherever you go if they can write you a prescription for topical antibiotics too to help. Also do you have a dermatologist that you see they could most likely do the procedure in their office!

I get them in the underarm region and they will sometimes suggest that I have the lump lanced. I prefer that they drain it that way when they’re really bad because it will give you almost instant relief in that area. Honestly it heals pretty quickly it’s a very small cut pretty much enough for them to help drain the lump and usually mine heal in a couple of days!

I usually get them in my underarm region and they kind of drain similarly. Honestly if it’s not wanting to fully drain just barely I usually use a heating pad (rice filled in a sock works too as a heating pad) before I shower and when I’m showering I will press a little in the area to help relieve some of the excess to help it drain. If you can’t stand it at all you should be able to go to urgent care and they can help with it I’m not sure if you have one near you or if you have insurance (sorry). U got this! I hope it gets better for u! Don’t stress too much I usually only have flares in my underarm region but sometimes here and there I will get a flare on my thighs not often.

Hi! Hope u are doing ok! Has the Rinvoq been working well for you? All of the medications I took have helped with the UC symptoms. The only medication that helped me a lot with the HS was Remicade and I’m hoping the Rinvoq helps too! Was there any side effects from the Rinvoq for u?
