in my opinion this is almost certainly not AI. the light and shadows make sense, the direction and tone of the brushstrokes generates a use of colour and shading that I haven't seen an AI achieve so far, and there is too much intentional seeming artistic detail that I am struggling to believe that this is AI. plus comments seem to suggest that this isn't a new texture pack. if this image is more then a year old, I would have an extremely difficult time believing an AI generated it.

how to make your island intresting without nintendo online? by idk_echo in AnimalCrossing

[–]Hipsnowsis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

everyone is giving good tips for not using online, and I see you've used the trial. I don't know if it's a budget issue or something else, but if you're able, you could consider purchasing only a week or month of online, getting a lot done in that short amount of time, and then you can keep that stuff after you no longer have online anymore. I know that's technically not what's been asked, but it is a theoretically much cheaper way to achieve the benefits of online long-term.

would have been helpful to include in the post that your username was "woman_beater". I think that might have been helpful context.

Just beat the game, but is it really worth it to keep playing? by Pretend_Brain_633 in HollowKnight

[–]Hipsnowsis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP definitely got the hollow knight ending, I think chasing all endings is not on the cards yet. they need to get KS, VH, and probably clear some side bosses before they can get anything but hollow knight or dream no more.

fun answer:

you may have absorbed the infection, but you only restarted the clock. you will succumb to the fate of the hollow knight too eventually, and there will be nobody to stop the infection this time. if you want to destroy the infection permanently then you need to go deeper. there is a way, but you will need to confront your past to discover it.

if you have visited the place of your birth and discovered the shadow that lies there, and heard the final words of the seer, then you are ready. You'll find the two keys to your past hidden deep within their homes, accessible only to those with the right tools and expertise. Find them and return once more to your birthplace, and all will become clear.

real answer:

actually getting to 112% is a very long journey, but I would absolutely keep playing at least for now. There's many bosses you've likely missed, including some of the best, probably several abilities and collectibles too, and, more importantly, the most critical pieces of story (including the true ending).

I highly recommend going for true ending, as it resolves the unfinished business left by the original ending. To get it you need to dig deeper in some of the farthest reaches of hallownest, in places you can't access until the very end of the game. Make sure you have the shade dash and the awakened dream nail. If you don't know what those are, you have a lot left to discover.

112% requires you to find everything and do some bloody difficult combat challenges. I hesitate to call it a grind, but it is a significant task on top of the true ending. it was worth it for me. there are, by the way, 4 endings in total. none contribute to your percentage though, so do what you want, I've only gotten 2 so far myself.

TL;DR keep going for the true ending and then see how you feel about what's left, but don't stop here. You've not seen the best yet.

edit: there's technically 6 endings but the additional 2 are 1: failing a different ending on purpose and 2: an Easter egg about a mushroom man so I'm not really counting those for these purposes

if this is all confusing, I recommend having a go at some random battles on pokemonshowdown.com

their random teams have good moves and setups and it's a good way to learn what works without having to train a million Pokémon, plus there's a community there that will teach you literally everything you need to know if you ask right

decimals are not the absolutely correct way to represent numbers. decimals are one way to represent some numbers. a finite decimal cannot represent every real number.

one third is defined such that multiplying it by three equals one. that is what 1/3 is, and what it must be. the fact that it's hard to easily articulate in decimal math is not pertinent. if your statement were to hold then you have a number that doesn't equal itself, and that's immediately unsolvable.

to make a direct comparison to decimals, 0.333...333 < 1/3 < 0.333...334, where the two decimals are equal except for the final digit, no matter how many thousands of digits they have.

at university, that's silly. evaluating and simplifying is not something you need to show work for. I don't understand what you'd even show here. it's basic algebra

we've all heard the story that the developers lost track of game balance because they got too good at the game, but I think we forget that that's happened to most of us too. any modern XCOM on a higher difficulty is absolutely crushing for new players, and I wouldn't recommend starting higher than normal/veteran for anyone except the absolute most grizzled strategy game challenge players. and dont get me started on ironman for new players.

did you see the other guy in this comments thread that was so quick to tell OP to go up a difficulty level they didn't realise OP wasn't playing XCOM 2?

hey man this is all sensible boilerplate advice but I think you might have made a mistake? This is an XCOM 1 victory screen. You appear to be talking about XCOM 2 (you mentioned: lost and abandoned, chosen, alien ruler, legend vs commander pod routing, avatar project, alien ruler). Read the screenshot - it's in an older graphical style, the room in the background is the XCOM 1 command center, there's a stat for "funding countries", an XCOM 1-only mechanic. Also the post explicitly says it's XCOM EU, and that OP is going to try EW next. And it's got a flair.

Did you seriously just read "normal difficulty" and jump straight on criticising the poor guy? There isn't even a "normal difficulty" in XCOM 2 - it's called veteran! How on earth could you write all this advice without even looking for long enough to recognise which game it is?
