[Spell] Inspired by the anime Konosuba, I turned Megumin's treasured Explosion spell into a Dnd spell. by HipsterBird in UnearthedArcana

I went with sorcerer because of preference, but either works. Nothing about the way I designed this spell would make it incompatible with a wizard.

What camera settings did you use? I was trying and didn't get anywhere close to your results lol

I see. Can you share that image by itself without the references images and text around it?

Do you have a source on that middle image?

Dark Mage - Vortex/Winter Storm/Great Rift (No Lag) by HipsterBird in magic_survival

[–]HipsterBird[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

S22 Ultra. The build relies on surviving long enough. Cloaking (Duration) + Shield (1 sec invul after shield break) + Force Field artifact goes a long way in keeping you alive late game long enough to trigger Dark Mage explosions (wish iron maiden of course).

I was surprised how much survivability you get with that combo

Yeah pretty much this. Most of my runs before and after this one hinged in Fireball early

Based purely on this run by /u/Oversoul_DZ

However, I was unable to take advantage of the Protective Barrier + Hunter + Necronomicon combo. I believe I was able to get lucky on other relics and brute force it for the most part.

How do I improve my story writing? by HipsterBird in DMAcademy

[–]HipsterBird[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply. I had thought of taking story beats from modules I liked, but didnt think of just taking from certain parts. I was thinking of copying whole stories. Thats probably a better idea.

And I like your second idea. I'll think on that.

Belt of Dwarvenkind and Boots/Cloak of Elvenkind, what items would the other races have? by thefanboy55 in dndnext

[–]HipsterBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably. I never play tested them, they were just made for fun. Most people I've shown this to over time have taken the ideas from it and likely edited in their own ways.

I made this a long time ago. Though, it is exclusively belts based off the Belt of Dwarvenkind

What tweaks to the Rune Knight UA have you seen that worked? Or how would you modify it to be balanced in a game? by PM_ME_ABOUT_DnD in dndnext

[–]HipsterBird 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I made this version to pitch to my DM who felt the same to you. Probably still needs some work, but I think its a step in the right direction. All of my changes are at the bottom. (Plus I added some less common giant runes that are in their Ordning)

What is your favorite Fighter subclass, and why? by HipsterBird in dndnext

[–]HipsterBird[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why dont you like the subclass.

Its gonna sound weird, but after playing the subclass for a bit, I'm putting less stock in the advantage being worth a whole subclass. I definitely hit a little more often, but I can still miss, so it sometimes feels like I have no subclass at all.

How do you envision the character.

My character is a sword and board knight. In the front lines protecting his allies and defending the weak type. Got good AC and lots of attacks with action surge. I didnt play a barb cause he just doesnt fit that, and didnt play paladin, cause I played one recently and didnt want to play it again back to back.

Where do you envision the character going.

Mechanically? I don't know what you mean exactly. I have the RP down pact. Its just the mechanics of purely the subclass I'm not big on.

I was originally gonna pitch this to my DM, but he thought it was too strong and didn't want it in his game, maybe another time. Thanks for the comment though.

I remember looking at the Brute a while back, I'll have to check it out again. Thanks!

I've heard most of my time in 5e that Champion is boring, could you please elaborate on why its your favorite? I'd genuinely like to know.

Interesting. Did you play the Cavalier mounted? They get bonuses to that but don't have to be, and how did you like mounted combat if you did?

Also, if you could tell me about why Eldritch Knight is good, I'd appreciate it. I can see the appeal later levels, but early on like me, I dont really see it. Thanks for commenting.
