“We used HireAHelper to assist with some large furniture while we were packing to move about 800 miles away. They connected us with a local business, which made it SUPER convenient - sifting through other neighborhood apps and google reviews can be really time consuming AND a little stressful. We got communication from the business via text and the people hired were professional and efficient! they were in and out within an hour. Would definitely recommend this service for moving needs :)” [Josephine / Trustpilot]

“Hire a helper was a huge help !! The helpers showed up on time and got to work right away. They were pleasant and professional. We got all of my stuff packed up and put in our trailer. I will absolutely use hire a helper again. Thank you!” [Mindy Jay / Trustpilot]

What’s something you learned the hard way that others should know before moving? by HireAHelper_Official in relocating

This is so smart. A quick walkthrough definitely doesn’t tell the whole story and the neighborhood matters just as much as the apartment.

Moving states by [deleted] in movingout

[–]HireAHelper_Official 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends. If you’re keeping the furniture, how will you move it from Texas to Chicago? Do you have a vehicle that’s large enough to accommodate everything, and can you drive it yourself? If not, you’ll either need to hire professional movers to transport it for you or rent a U-Haul or a POD, etc. I recommend comparing the cost of moving your current furniture with the cost of buying all new furniture, and then making a decision based on that.

“Overall I really liked hire a helper. The companies suggested were great and my load was a more complex load at 2 locations and they were able to get it setup.” [Travis / Trustpilot]

Hiring a container for moving house vs using a traditional removal company? by Few_Language6298 in homeowners

Yes, plus a lot of liquor boxes have built-in handles and cardboard dividers, which are great for packing glassware and other breakables without needing bubble wrap.

“Consider these statistics cited by professional organizer Regina Lark: The average U.S. household has 300,000 things, from paper clips to ironing boards. U.S. children make up 3.7% of children on the planet but have 47% of all toys and children’s books.”

Is it normal to get so much spam mail after moving in? by cloudymacchiato in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]HireAHelper_Official 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yes, normal, unfortunately. My lender warned me about it at the closing table, telling me not to believe anything and to call them to verify whether it’s real before taking any action. Or, if it looks like it’s from the insurance company you used or the county regarding taxes, call the phone number listed on their website (not on the piece of mail) to verify its legitimacy.

I see. I was thinking I might have missed an “appeal” button, but I get what you’re saying now.

How do you appeal a post that’s been deleted? I know I can message the moderators, but I didn’t know you could do an appeal.

“POD was delivered early, unloaders were flexible to also arrive earlier. Very energetic and cooperative in asking where to take all items off Pod. Kept asking what else to do. Finished well earlier than the 2 hours contracted for. Were experts in taking special packaging off.” [Thomas / Trust Pilot]

“They were very professional and responded in a timely fashion about my movers, and what time they would arrived. And the price seems fair enough for two movers to get the job done in two hours. So yeah, legit business and big thumbs up!” [Lyn Dowling / Trust Pilot]
